Renton 21978
Didn't the 777 have the issue with batteries flaming up? No. That's the new 787 dream liner. Triple 7s have one of the best safety records going.

Happy Face 29
I enjoyed the chapter on plane crashes in Outliers. How deferential are Malaysians to superiority?

Toonpack 9915
If it can't be summarised in three one sentence paragraphs then I don't want to know. Slow decompression in weakened area of airframe that effects comms kit (known defect on 777 with an FAA maintenance advisory - hairline cracks) All on board become slowly unconscious due to small failure in aforementioned area of plane and the slow decompression Plane autopilot keeps it going until fuel runs out, i.e. it could have come down anywhere along it's route. Toonpack 9915
Surely it had more than enough fuel to reach it's destination though? Am not sure autopilots do much more than fly at this speed, on this heading, at this height until I turn you off, could easily have changed course for any number of reasons and flown right on out to sea I guess. A couple of degrees difference is a huge deal over a long distance.
