Christmas Tree 4725
There's some right 'middle age' topics on here, mind. If you have your own place (which you should have by mid 20's) then you should have an interest in what it looks like.

Yep, well, I don't. Despite being responsible for a small business with several million in turnover, I can't afford a house. Such are the times we live in! Most of my money has gone on studying around my work to be honest. It's supposed to be worth it some day... (so they tell me). But fair enough, I guess if I did then I'd probably take an interest. Don't mind me CT, just one of today's disenfranchised and bitter (not so) young people

Gemmill 44887
It's gonna be mint when CT's youngest is still stinking up the parental home into his 30s. Meenzer 15531
Being in London we're obviously still renting (which Thatcherites no doubt see as just as much a sign of failure as a grown-up using the bus), so don't want to make the place over too much as we'd only have to return it to magnolia blandness again when we move out. Magnolia blandness is OK though - there's not all that much blank space around the living room walls anyway because we've got so many books, CDs, DVDs and stuff - which I think look awesome out on display, especially the books - and one of the walls is taken up by a massive and pretty ugly (but really convenient) TV/storage unit that the landlord couple apparently thought was a good idea. Anyway, can't imagine I'd be bothered with painting and decorating much even we did own the place - framed photos/posters, ornamental displays and things like that on otherwise bland walls are more my style and you can chop and change them more easily. Meenzer 15531
My uncle and aunt used to redecorate every year without fail. Every year. I don't understand it. Anyway, that violet looks like something from an old folks' home. Ask her if she's quite ready to retire and die.

The houses I have been looking at are not really where I want to be living and aren't where I could have afforded to buy had i been 20 years older than I am in the exact same job. It's out of your control and all you can do is keep chipping away at what your doing. Our generation has been screwed over a bit, thats not your fault.
