Whooping Cough FFS 🤦🏻‍♂️

I’ve been unwell since last Wednesday and thought it was just good old man flu. Obviously I couldn’t possibly let it interfere with Covent Garden or Wembley but when I scared the shit out of wor lass by, in her words, trying my utmost to turn my lungs inside out she said enough was enough and insisted I got a GP appointment.

It’s not pleasant.

Sorry to hear about your ailment but congrats on successfully building that time machine.

Allegedly there was some huge scare about the vaccine back in the 70s and my Mam, rest her soul, thought it better for me to avoid having it!

2nd time I've had it ... last time, I was 4!

There was a Wakefield like scandal over DTP in the mid 70s, it was bullshit just like the latter day one. DTP also covered diphtheria and tetanus. You don't want to get either of those diseases either. Chances are you will have at least had a tetanus one since at least.

On the positive side though you're probably entitled to US citizenship. 👍

Wasn’t sure where to put this, so here will do.

Anyone had any experience of eating disorders?

Mrs. F. and I are concerned with our daughter- she’s lost weight ( there was fuck all to lose in the first place) and her eating habits have changed fairly noticeably.

Any other signs we should be aware of?

Hopefully she’s just on some health kick, but if not I’d want to nip it in the bud and get professional help asap before it’s too bad.

Anyone having prostate treatments currently?  Which, if any, are working?  Sick of waking up 5 times a night to pee.

Have they had you on Tamsulosin? I was on that alongside the antibiotics - it makes you piss like a racehorse so it might help you fully emptying your bladder?

First, have you been properly diagnosed by the doctor? If you've had the more serious causes ruled out, you've probably got benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) and/or overactive bladder syndrome (OAB), or possibly a hybrid of these. As Gemmill says, you can take an alpha blocker for the former. For OAB, I've worked on beta-3 agonist for this issue recently called vibegron. This or a similar drug called mirabegron are both effective for the condition.

I tend to wake up once, around 5am, but I'm in the habit of drinking a pint of water before sleep because otherwise I feel dehydrated. But my bladder capacity is not what it once was. More a problem during the day tbh when I'm facing situations I can't get to the toilet. Then I just piss into a bottle and spray piss everywhere. Oh wait, no, that's MF, not me.

I wanted to get a blood test for my prostate.  I am getting on a bit now and just want to make sure everything is ok.  But because I am not old enough, or don't have any family history I cannot get one by my GP.  I cannot seem to find somewhere private to get one too!

Nah, I haven't done it myself because I'm not an old cunt.

My hypochondriac wife has done a few but I don't think she's bothered with the prostate one... yet.

Thing is, PSA has a high false positive rate, its not that straight forward. Look, we all know you're really after a finger up the bum so just make some stuff up about blood in your poo and the GP will advise.

Side effects of that tamsulosin were an odd one. First tablet I've ever had where the pharmacist rang me after a couple of days to check if I was OK.

The doctor mentioned something, maybe about it dropping your blood pressure or something? But if I had been lying down watching telly and got up to do something, for the first 20 to 30 seconds, I would get the proper head staggers. It was like I couldn't catch my breath or something.

Stopped the day after I came off them. Very odd feeling.
