I could talk for a long time about why I think porn is a net-negative, but I'll try to keep it short. It sets unrealistic expectations; it promotes an often unhealthy view of sex; it's addictive; it potentially lessens the need to procreate (not that I give two shites about that personally). I get what you're saying, but this is coming from a government that is also now advocating for cracking down on 'extremist' thought on the internet, and has already banned, pointlessly, the depiction of certain sexual activities between consenting adults. This whole policy is a shambles IMO. I'm genuinely going to be fascinated to see if they're going to kick 2 million kids off Tumblr and probably more from Reddit, when this goes through. I'm just repulsed by the idea of the government interfering in people's lives under the guise of 'save the children'. We need to kill off ideologies - why we can't just have a rational decision making apparatus with a fact based approach to policy is absolutely beyond me.
