Booked a cheap(ish) trip to Rome for the end of January. Wanted to go for ages so I'm excited

Great choice. Best pizza in Italy if you ask me. Much better than Naples

Me and the Mrs. are thinking of maybe doing a little bit of European interrailing for a couple of weeks in the summer. (Possibly Italy)

Anybody ever done anything like this before?/Got any tips on how is best to do it? (Never done anything like this so any help is much appreciated)

Do the Amalfi coast, we were there last summer. Mind blowing views, devine weather, fantastic food, beautiful people. Hire a car for a week or do the escorted tour. Bare in mind it won't be on the cheap mind but it's well worth it.

Saw a great offer for business class flights last November to San Francisco, going in August this year, but when I went to book it the following day it turned out it was a sale offer and the sale had ended. Was then forced to book cattle class with Aer Lingus. Got an email from them last week saying that one of my internal flights had been cancelled and to call them to reschedule. Had a quick look on BA's website and the sale was back on so rang Aer Lingus and demanded to cancel my flights which they did no problem and managed to book business class with BA for just £150 more each. Overall, very pleased with that stroke of luck.

Got 1600 off the price of a suite in Tenerife off the back of a TripAdvisor blag. They threw in free transfers too. Still lumpy but delighted with the outcome.

Currently in the W in Verbier which is very nice. Been walking in snow shoes up a mountain today and the sledged it back down after a meal in some chalet. Amazing scenery.

I'd say there's a bit less to actually see there than in other major German cities - once you've done the cathedral (which is pretty impressive, granted) then there isn't really all that much to do there when it's not Christmas market time. But if you're also after the kind of Germany trip that involves copious quantities of beer and heavy food then it's definitely good for that. Good base for exploring the Rhine too, if it's a sunny-ish time of year.

Yeah, rural areas are the last place you'd expect to find a gîte ;)

If I were looking for a Gît, I'd definitely know where to find it.
