Rayvin 5296
Why kill him though? Do they really have that little respect for life? As for the juror, I'd be interested to hear their take on why this was justifiable. Assuming they're not KKK or something. Alex 35573
Too many police there are far too trigger happy and seem to able to kill black people with impunity but, ultimately, it's all borne out of their fucked up gun laws, ownership and the availabilty of those weapons. Park Life 71
Chosen for his oratory and smooth presentation skills. The intellect and moral integrity of an apple. Will go down in history as the whitest black man available to mislead millions. Was frosty to Netenyahu and did deliver the UN vote against Israel as a parting shot without the courage to bring Israel into line during his heyday. Happy Face 29
Giants in telecommunications, like Verizon and AT&T, will not have to take “reasonable measures” to ensure that their customers’ Social Security numbers, web browsing history and other personal information are not stolen or accidentally released. Wall Street banks like Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase will not be punished, at least for now, for not collecting extra money from customers to cover potential losses from certain kinds of high-risk trades that helped unleash the 2008 financial crisis. Social Security Administration data will no longer be used to try to block individuals with disabling mental health issues from buying handguns, nor will hunters be banned from using lead-based bullets, which can accidentally poison wildlife, on 150 million acres of federal lands. These are just a few of the more than 90 regulations that federal agencies and the Republican-controlled Congress have delayed, suspended or reversed in the month and a half since President Trump took office. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/03/05/us/politics/trump-deregulation-guns-wall-st-climate.html?_r=
ewerk 31199
America's biggest shame has to be healthcare. Obviously the focus is currently on trying to replace Obamacare with a less effective policy but why the fuck would you want to see any of your constituents with less health coverage? Why would you want to deny your fellow citizens the chance to live? It brings out the worst in that country.

I get the impression its part of this "American dream" mythos - they believe if you work hard then you can become a millionaire - if you're poor its beacuse you don't work hard and therefore you're "unamerican" - therefore you don't deserve healthcare. Chuck in the "socialism" boogeyman and you have a toxic mix of thinking.
Rayvin 5296
Absolutely what NJS has said. They've done such a good job of perpetuating this bullshit about equal opportunities regardless of background, that very few low educated people in the US seem to countenance any alternative thought on the matter. It's actually sort of admirable, after a sense. It's hard to deny that people being prepared to work hard is a good thing. The problem is that they have to work so much harder than the people at the top - who generally don't have to put in much effort at all. Alex 35573
Many of the same people who buy into it are the ones rebelling against the preceived establishment. Try working that one out.

NJS 4411
Funnily enough the tories peddle the same stuff about hard work being rewarded with no account of opportunity or appropriate rewards. I always laugh when people say they support "aspirational" people because they support grammar schools (which we know don't work) when in fact they're dogged defenders of the entrenched privilege based society. As an aside they'll soon start ramping up the message that "worthwhile" people should choose private Healthcare and the NHS is only for the wasters. Happy Face 29
Work hard and you'll be ok. Libraries? For free, fuck that, why should anyone else pay for trampy bairns to read? Close them. Disabled parents? I don't think government should encourage you to shirk your duties. Provide their care and finance their survival yourself and concentrate on upward mobility if you can otherwise. University? Hmm ok, at a push, but if you want that sort of privilege I think it only fair that we handicap you with massive debt in order to prove your fighting spirit. It's not as if we'll have a vibrant economy that will give you a good job to pay taxes on when you finish is it? Big Society! We're all in it together! And other associated horseshit buzz phrases!
