Well a victory here and a draw between Man U and Spurs could see us at sixth tomorrow but regardless of other teams I expect another close game with these if we're on our game, (We can be doing without a 'Swansea' performance). Being at home on New Years day is an advantage so I really hope we're at it from the off. Reckon Pardew will change things a bit and maybe rest one at least before making his usual wholesale cup changes next Saturday against Cardiff. Can see Sissoko being rested and can see Shola starting alongside Remy and possibly putting Ben Arfa on from the start. Might have to settle for a point as these away wins are bound to dry up a bit. Lets hope not yet though, eh? ;)

We can take West Brom if we take it seriously - do they even have a new manager yet?

Even being away we should take it fairly comfortably. Anichebe is doubtful and there's a remote possibility that Anelka could have been banned by then..! Although I guess that would have happened today if it was going to.

Strange one that. Was a straight choice between HBA or no HBA. Fair play if it comes off but if it doesn't then Pardew has fucked this one up. With out next game likely to be a loss we need max points today

If we win today there's a very real chance we could be 9 points clear of Southampton in 9th place. Which is kinda bizarre. I'm not used to being this comfortable in decent positions. Equally if we lose, we're going to be adrift in 8th place for the coming few weeks.

Yes very strange not to put in HBA. Surely he has shown that he does track back now? But then again we are away from home and they have Anelka and Sess. It may be a good tactic. Let's see
