What a day :D Stoke will feel hard done by the decisions, as far as Im concerned it couldnt have happened to a better team.

Ben Arfa's performance was wankworthy. Okay so it was 9 mine for half the game, but still. What a joy to watch. That turn of pace over 5-10 yards is absolutely devastating!

Just got in from a trip to restock the old booze and saw the score (cremant de limoux if you're interested, local "champagne" but only £4 a bottle)

Marvellous, we were due one of these.

A lovely run of wins with very little to get angry about.

I wonder what Ashley has planned for us all in January. :)

Had to laugh, they get their first win at Goodison for nigh on 20 years, that was dragging them off the bottom, then Norwich, West Ham and Villa let their opposition take the win and sunderland find themselves back on the bottom of the league.

Also, if you want to see how to be the biggest set of whinging bad losers, check out the Stoke message board.

  1. None of the yellows were deserved
  2. neither of the penalties were deserved
  3. the Newcastle crowd shouldn't have celebrated being 5-1 as it's classless
  4. this is the problem with too many frenchmen in the league
  5. Pardew will complain we didn't get any decisions
  6. I dunno, probably something about the ball being the wrong shape or something I presume...

I'm always happy when we get 3 points, but the way we got them today kinda takes the glow of.

Stoke were leading 1 - 0 and were controlling the game and then they went to 10, then 9 men. Had they kept their strength at 11 we may have been looking at a result in their favour.

Remy missing a penalty.....why did he take it?

Haidara was abysmal at crossing the ball.

Stoke are the most horrible dirty fouling bunch of bastards in the league. Nothing takes the gloss off beating them. It could only have been better if Hughes had been sent off too.

Perhaps, but also, if we'd had 2 men sent off we could have been battered, so let address what did happen instead of imagining terrible situations.

Remy missing a penalty.....why did he take it? 1st choice striker, hadn't been at his best, probably just looking to get his confidence back.

Haidara was abysmal at crossing the ball. Young lad, he'll improve.

Cheer up Noelie man :nufc:

Aye the joy of the victory shouldn't mask how poor we were first half, just as not too much should be read into a few Ben Arfa dribbles against 9 men Stoke.

Against Arsenal it should still be 442 with Shola or 433 with Tiote joining Cabaye and Anita and Sis, Rem and Gouf up top for me.

A nice Christmas gift from the gods.

Are some Stoke fans really suggesting the team should have walked off?

Did I actually just read that?

I haven't seen the actions that led to the ref's decisions, but none of them sound like absolutely stonewall NOT penalties/yellows. If they're not categorically inexcusable decisions the ref has made, then just face up to the fact that you might have been hard done by, it was possibly a little harsh but these things happen in football. Reading their forum, it's like there is no debate - the decisions were totally wrong, their players were totally innocent and if the shoes were on the other foot they'd expect us to react in exactly the same way (I'd like to think some of us at least wouldn't).

We'd have felt hard done by no doubt but there's some properly insane people on there. A few of them arguing about whether they'd have Cabaye in their team
