If Labour was on its game (and had good enough politicians to do it), it would have stuck to attacking the government on Windrush and would have had a good chance of getting a scalp. However the government have laid out a trail of biscuit crumbs about illegal immigration and have steered the attack down a dead end. The labour attack now looks toothless given just as many Labour ministers (and shadow ministers) were equally as aggressive in going after illegal immigrants. What economist degree did Gordon Brown have? You are an idiot, the exchequer is stuffed full with very clever economists to advise. The job of the chancellor is to guide decision making in line with the governments political policy. I think ministers should be qualified or have experience in their portfolio. But Michael Gove man, seriously. He might be surrounded by experts, but he he's had enough of them iirc.
