And I'll just leave the official figures from 2013 here. ;)

As the nursing diploma doesn't exist anymore you really need to Update your sources ;)

When it did exist it was 3 years long. The only 2 year course is the postgrad diploma which you need a degree to get onto in the first place

Well that's a lie. Even the older generation of nurses with a diploma are funded to go back to uni part time to top it up to a degree

You also have to complete 35hours of cpd/training every 3 years or they won't let you practice.

Case in point, I have a degree, a PGdip at Msc level, a prescribing qualification and am trained in delivering dialectical behavioural therapy at national level. I also make less money than my mate who sells street lights to councils

Doesnt your career consist of selling sofa's and driving taxi's? You really need to learn to pick your fights

Not a lie in sight, just waffle from you.

Prior to 2013 you did not need a degree to become a nurse FACT

In 2013, only 25% of nurses were degree qualified FACT

That's the whole point of the discussion

But neither of those statements are the same as 'most nurses don't have degrees'

As I've just said, diploma level nurses are funded and supported to 'top up' once they qualify. As Cath said, 80% of her team Is degree level, and I'd estimate that a similar level of mine are too

great description of corbyn in the new FT mag piece

The rise of Corbyn — a 67-year-old teetotal vegetarian whose hobbies include spotting manhole covers — is one of western politics’ strangest conundrums.

How much longer is this tiresome farce over Labour's leadership going to go on... even after the vote in a few days you just know that it'll rumble on.

I imagine there'll be news of some manner of 'emergency meeting' for Labour rebels with an announcement a few days later that a new party has will be/has been formed. They'll come out and say that they have no choice and have been forced to take this action because they believe in 'effective opposition' and 'standing up to the Tories on grammar schools'.

The left will be split and the Tories entrenched. May might even call a GE.

Far less likely, IMO, is the rebels issuing this statement:

"We accept the results of the party leadership election, and will now fall into line behind the current leadership and aim to support them in combatting Tory policies. We acted as we felt we had to, but feel that to take things any further would cause irreparable harm to the cause of democratic socialism in the UK, and is therefore wholly politically irresponsible."

Ah of course, there is the possibility that Smith might win, I suppose... I've not heard him say anything in about two weeks though, so I assume even he thinks that's impossible now.
