NJS 4365
I don't think he's a strong leader but it doesn't help when he's been stabbed in the back by MPs and let down by the stupidity of allies. For the record some of what Livingstone said regarding criticism of Israel is correct and needs to be said but you don't mix fucking Hitler into a discussion about Jews. But then contrast with the tories catastrophic splits over Europe, benefit cuts, nhs destruction etc..... And Corbyn turns out to be a pathetic limp dick incapable of making any dent on these fuckers.... Tell you what you pathetic Corbynobites, just fuck off and form your own shit idealist socialist party and leave the rest of us to scrabble together to try and find some good out of the shit you've excremated on us. Do I need to name names here? Ok, off the top of my head people like J69, Gemmill, paddock lad, and hmhm are guilty especially the former two. I'll let you all off though if you as admit you've made a mistake regarding the anti-semite cotbyn.....

Us middle-classes have to vent sometimes darling. There is a more serious point though. For the first time in my life next election, I don't know where to put my cross. Depressing. PaddockLad 17064
Named and shamed I'll say now what I said at the time, I thought a lurch leftwards would, with the support of the parliamentary party (haha), would get us somewhere near the middle again. I fully admit to being wrong, Corbyn is a protestor and not a leader, which I pretty much knew at the time, but I couldn't bring myself to vote for any of the Blairites. That was also a recipe for more of the same, i.e. losing an election by being the same as the tories and sleepwalking into the privatisation of the NHS etc, which will still happen and I can't for the life of me see how Andy Burnham would have stopped it. As for the anti semitism bullshit smear thing, I suppose this is what you get when the likes of Livingstone are front and centre of the Labour Party. Pretty much agree with NJS, being factually correct for Livingstone is far more important than alienating most decent people (on the back of the Tory propaganda machine; what the fuck is Goldsmith doing getting involved in it for? I'd have thought being 2nd in a two horse race with Sadiq Khan would be enough to concentrate the mind but he's plainly been told "don't forget the big picture") and indeed a Jewish community that outside the moneyed elite tends to lean to the left. I don't get why you'd call any of them anti Semitic though, unless you've bought the media spun bullshit of the last few weeks, or have difficulty separating criticism of the Isreali government policies re Palestinians with being religiously prejudiced against those of the Jewish faith. In my mind it's a piece of piss to separate the two. So @@Renton, there's my "mea culpa" where the fuck do we go from here, oh great Labour sage? Renton 21229
Go home renton, you're drunk I certainly was. Having read back my post though, I don't think I'm wrong, I just needed to vent. Where do we go from here PL? Firstly, my guess is we learn to accept a generation of rule from the Bullingdon boys whilst the labour leadership veers off into the extreme nastiness of the far left. Meanwhile I think the labour party needs to split, don't know who gets to keep the name. None of my family is going to vote this time round, for the first time ever; we simply can't stomach voting for Corbyn yes woman in the next local elections. There will be millions like me. Sad times.

Rayvin 5164
I remain unchanged personally. If he loses he loses. If they oust him I'll be abandoning the Labour party - unless of course they come back with progressive policies instead of Tory-lite ones. It's always been about policies for me. Not at all impressed by how hard the establishment has worked against Corbyn and it makes me all the more determined to stick with him. Until he does or says something I can't support, that'll be where I am. Stunned that people think the struggles of the Labour party are all at his door tbh, given the conniving machinations of the Blairite wing. I'd like to think my views on how pathetic the Blarites are being are shared by many other younger voters, and I guess we'll see when he's eventually torn down from within where they all go. To the greens probably. I don't think Labour will be stronger for their loss though.

Given what a mess the conservative party is on and how unpopular their policies are, does it not concern you how utterly pathetic Corbyn has been in exploiting this? Are you forever going to blame "the establishment" for his blatant failings? Like I said, if you want to support Corbyn and his policies (or non-policies more like) then fine. But you should do it by forming your own party because clearly the vast majority of people don't support this.

I probably would have gone elsewhere, but then Labour put forward an option I believed in. I and others like me aren't at fault here Rents, it's the failing of New Labour that is entirely responsible for where we are. Corbyn had nothing to do with Labour failing in the last election, so everything the Tories are doing up to this point is on New Labour and the Blairities, not Corbyn. You can't blame people for wanting change and something better than what was being served up previously. EDIT - sorry, failed to address your first question - I think it's important to separate how Corbyn is exploiting Tory failures, and how little coverage the press are giving him on anything positive. I think the Guardian has run more stories about this anti-semitism 'scandal' than they have about Hillsborough. That says it all. Renton 21229
Why don't YOU form your own party? It obviously seems to annoy you more than most on here People on here are unrepresentative and irrelevant. The parliamentary party needs to represent a credible alternative to the Tories. We haven't got that. Labour massively fucked up post-Miliband by letting itself get infiltrated by sixth form idealists like yourself. Where were you before the leadership election? Fuck off telling me to form my own party, I want mine back.

Renton 21229
The party of Liz Kendall? She's one member, yes. This basically all goes back to the claim that a blairite or brownite labour party is no better than a Tory one. I personally think that is ludicrous. Would a Corbyn government be worse than a Cameron one though? Sadly I think it probably would be.
Christmas Tree 4679
Not that I'm impressed at all by Corbyn but it's a bit much writing him off weeks before the first "test" of his leadership, the local elections. Fail there and he'll be gone. A year out from the last election it's hardly the time to have your policies set up for 4 years time.

He has virtually no support from the parliamentary party and has no leadership skills at all. The people that voted him in by and large weren't long standing labour members. Yes, I want my party back. What about long standing Labour voters? Do they not matter or is it only members that count? (Obviously the votes were from members but as I'm not a member I didn't vote for him although I was happy enough getting him as leader of the party I vote for. I'm in the GMB and apparently had a vote which I wasn't aware of at the time so I'm afraid I'm not guilty). Nice to see the Party disregarding the members though, is the party it's membership or it's MP's? If it's the latter they can get to fuck and organise THEIR own party you self regarding tit.
