catmag 336
I've loved being part of #ImInWorkJeremy on Twitter over the past 24hrs. Thousands of posts and photos of those of us who already provide that elusive 7-day NHS service that Hunt believes we don't already have. But as many have said, he probably won't see any of it til Monday when he's back at work.

Howmanheyman 32826
Part of the Welfare bill written by a Tory in power. Impact on protected groups 28. Households that include someone with a protected characteristic (as defined by the Equality Act 2010) will be affected by this policy if they receive one or more of the affected benefits. Overall those groups who are more likely to be in receipt of affected benefits are more likely to be affected by this policy change. 29. The Universal Credit payment is made to the benefit unit, however on an individual basis women may be more likely to be affected than men. Around 90% of lone parents are women, and a higher proportion of this group are in receipt of CTC. Therefore they are more likely to be affected, in the absence of behavioural change. 30. Of households currently in receipt of any welfare benefit those which contain someone with a disability are less likely to have children, relative to those households which do not. Therefore of households in receipt of welfare those containing someone with a disability are less likely to be affected. 31. Ethnic minority households may be more likely to be impacted by these changes. This is because they are, on average, more likely to be in receipt of these benefits, and on average have larger families. Point 28, Households that get one or more benefits will be affected by the change if they are in receipt of a benefit that is being changed. (You don't say!) Point 29, Single Mothers will get it in the neck unless there is 'behavioural change' According to point 30, Disabled people will be less likely to be affected as they probably wont have kids, (Apart from the likes of wor lass who flagrantly had our children defying conservative ideology, the irresponsible scrounging harlot!) Point 31 holds no pretense, Nig Nogs have loads of kids and will be affected but that's ok because nobody gives a fuck about them.

JJ 0
Labour have become such a lame opposition that you have to wonder how the hell they can turn it around by 2020. The constant abstentions on bills that could have been defeated but instead passed is just enabling this Tory government to push through it's vile policies. Labour need to win people back as there's a mass of people who either don't vote or vote for another party, but instead focus their entire strategy on winning a few hundred thousand votes off the Tories in marginals, and thus this is the feeble opposition you get. Rayvin 5186
As bad as Labour are handling this, the Tories have politicised the emergence of the SNP to kill them (Labour) and have done so with aplomb, sadly... It's actually making the Tories look competent, how well they've played all the other parties. We need better leadership on the left than this. We need consistent strategies that will differentiate our parties from the Tories, not this rush to the middle ground. Truth is though, it's not going to happen. We're lumbered with the Tories until a) they fuck up something really, really seriously or b ) some geopolitical issue (like the financial crisis) comes along and shafts them. Even then, on the latter one, Labour would have to be properly sorted out to be able to make the most of it. If the opportunity came along now, they wouldn't be able to capitalise...
