The map on the right must be wrong, according to all media and the rest of the country it was the densely populated NE that was the driving force for leave.

Quick way to lose $100mil. I'm still not convinced Farage wants anymore responsibility than being on telly and getting rich.

So Biden has decided to pardon his son just before he leaves office. Giving Trump a ready made excuse to do the same to anyone he pleases. Poor show, Joe.

It does look very bad but I from what I remember the prosecutors were singling him out because of who his father was by demanding jail time rather than accepting a plea bargain as is usually the case.

Also, Trump will pardon annyone and everyone who pays him anyway, regardless of Biden.

I think that's probably part of Biden's reasoning. Well if trump does it why shouldn't I?

It's wrong like, but fuck it - it's not like Hunter Biden will ever be anywhere near a position of power ever again - he seems like the stereotypical rich kid who desperately wants to impress dad with his mad schemes he cooks up on a cocaine binge - only to be told by papa what a fucking moron he is when it inevitably goes wrong - Which I believe (and I may be wrong here) is the American dream, so I don't see why the yanks aren't celebrating it.

Aye he was being made an example of to get to his dad. He seems like a right fucking idiot.

He's the stereotypical preppy son of a rich dad, with a massive chip on his shoulder. Won't be the first time his dad's bailed him out and I suspect it won't be the last.

I know, but that's a slippery slope in politics. The left needs to try and keep some sort of moral high ground or the lines end up so blurred that the general public decide to ignore the law too

Whilst I fully agree with what you’re saying above, I think ‘Murica is way beyond that stage of play.

I agree with this to an extent. I think the left do need to learn to play dirty in certain situations - because the right are, and it's working for them.

However, I don't think the left should just scrape the bottom of the barrel - they still need to be seen as "better" in four years time when trump absolutely tanks the country again, otherwise they risk a proper project 2025 stooge taking over and the country becoming a proper handsmaid tale wankfest.

Aye, don't underestimate how many centrist and apolitical Americans were sick of Trump and his sideshow at the end of his last term. The Democrats need to see out the next 4 years, sack off Kamala and Biden and bring through some fresh blood to give the public a viable party to vote for.

Aye that's pathetic. It wouldn't even cost them votes. The majority of people think Brexit was a mistake and giving young people back the opportunity to work in Europe is part of the fix. Nobody but the most blinkered would see that as a betrayal.

it’s such low-hanging fruit. This is what I’m talking about with Starmer’s lack of ambition/vision. He’s scared of his own shadow. I get that he’s worried about losing the votes he gained to win the election but he may only last a single term if he doesn’t grow a pair

Let's not call this a slippery slope, that's still a fallacy. Let's call it for what it is, outright corruption. In America, the land of the free, clearly not all people are equal in the eyes of the law.

Doesn't matter who abuses power in this way, it's wrong. And just like that, the democrats have given away any moral authority they might have had and accelerated the unravelling of their deomocracy. There is no hope when both sides are corrupt.

Buttigieg has to be their next pick. The bloke goes on fox news weekly just to absolutely take the piss out of them. The next alt right fucktard coming through would not want to debate the bloke because he'd ruin them. Ex military too because them cunts love that. The only thing that I see working against him is he's gay and them bible belt nutters will not approve of that.

That's exactly why it shouldn't be him. They've already voted for Donald fucking Trump over a(n admittedly uninspiring) woman twice now. They and other key groups have a very specific idea of what kind of person should be in charge, and a gay man with "Butt" in his name is not it.

This unfortunately. Don't judge Americans by our own standards, it is a vastly different country becoming less and less secular and liberal.

He doesn’t need an excuse. It’s common practice anyway for outgoing presidents to pardon dodgy fuckers. Agree it’s bad crack though

I get what you’re saying. He’s currently trying to bring this into political debate in the uk as it is in the US. Difficult to tell if he’s just shit stirring as usual but he certainly appears to very keen to create more bullshit populist division. I think his plainly obvious arrogant streak will come to the fore if he thinks he can fuck democracy over in this country as Trumpism has done in the US aided by the billions from the tech oligarchs…he may well fancy being their placeman in this country..

You could apply the exact same sentiment to Trump btw.

He's got fuck all desire to improve his country. He wants the money, fame and power, with a bit of golf in between.
