wykikitoon 20985
I've subscribed to that good law project for the last few years. They do some great work. Problem is. The government have more money.

PaddockLad 17774
Tata are closing the blast furnaces and removing them then building allegedly greener electric arc furnaces to replace them . Unions have put forward a proposal to keep one open (and the associated jobs) whilst the other one is being sorted. The uk government have given Tata £500 mill to achieve this. Tata obviously rejected the union proposal. Regardless of Brexit removing various EU trade protections over steel production that are in place across the whole bloc am not sure if Tata’s motivations and intentions are anything at all to do with whether the UK is in the EU or not. Is net zero an EU aspiration or did a Tory government decide unilaterally that it was a good idea?… Edited January 20 by PaddockLad

PaddockLad 17774
So we’ve signed up for net zero after we’ve left the EU. It’s nothing to do with Brexit. If you’re against losing 3k jobs (who isn’t?) fair enough but Farage and his pre Brexit bullshit have little to do with it. His comments are irrelevant. It’s on Tata and the present government as far as I can make out. Of course the jumped up little fascist is now making capital from it but that’s bollocks too. Tata have apparently run the fuckin place into the ground deliberately… Edited January 21 by PaddockLad
Alex 35678
You could say the same about virtually everything he says though. All his commentary is predicated on what he’d do / what would happen knowing full well he’s never going to be in a position to deliver or even influence policy. Even the Brexit stuff is always later given the caveat it wasn’t the right kind of Brexit, opportunities have been squandered etc. Edited January 21 by Alex
PaddockLad 17774
Lots of big accounts on X blaming either Brexit or net zero.. all agenda driven bollocks. Tata wanted to close Port Talbot and the rest of British Steel and this government has bunged them 500 mill to do so. No significant steel making capability now in the country that used to build ships for the whole world. That’s tragic not to mention dangerous from a manufacturing security point of view. What if China/Russia/some other set of cunts try to blockade imports? 😒 Edited January 21 by PaddockLad
Renton 22075
I'd feel more comfortable about us losing the ability to manufacture virgin steel if we were part of a pan-european union rather than an isolated Billy no mates island mind. Net zero set by country is bollocks too. Importing high quality steel will clearly have a worse effect than if we made our own. Net zero should be measured as much on consumption as production. Her husband earns 75k a year (that's 53k after tax) but she sends 2 of the kids (fuck knows about the other 2) to a private school for 15k each a year. So she spends more than half her husband's salary on private schools? What about her mortgage? This is clearly unsustainable, whatever VAT LAbour are going to add. Spare me the fucking boo hoos and move house to somewhere with better state education if the local schools aren't good enough for you. The following paragraph where she bemoans her neighbours spending all their money on booze, takeaways and lottery tickets. Any residual empathy I might have had for her is gone. Maybe if she saved money on her blue tick and actually worked instead of doing all this "research" and posting shit on the internet she could afford to look after her kids properly. Renton 22075
"Chemtrails" btw. Where the hell is Parky when you need him. Here's a photo of the dastardly RAF in WW2 not going out to bomb Fritz, no, but even then spraying us with chemical for <insert reason here>.
