Have to say , my greatest sympathy is with the poor bastard that was driving the lorry.

Aye - in my past rants about train suicides I've slways mentioned the poor driver.

The case itself is down to a few factors where the woman was let down but its undeniable that the new law contributed. Actions do have consequences and the least they could have done was put something in place to deal with people pushed this far. Of course my view is that the cunts couldn't care less.

It's strange the are called "UKIP" when they seem very English (and in fact very South East) - I haven't read what their policies are for Scotland and the rest.

What do you base this on?

It has nowt and a tiny pop. If it did get into competition with the uk reg wages or anything the UK has the ability to go lower. It won't be allowed to leave the pound.

So oil, gas, whisky, banking, IT, wind and tidal power, agriculture, forestry, fishing, tourism, textiles are nothing?

Textiles too, luxury goods companies investing in the wool trade i believe. Whisky is obviously a massive growth area with emerging markets. Fishing remains strong for supplying France and Spain. Oil and gas too. Renewable energy is not really a competitive advantage and will depend on inward investments.

Its not enormous but its not bad.

Tbh I think England would come worst off if they lost 95% of the oil revenue.

Oil: Running out and the most exp to drill on the planet (deep sea).

Gas: The world is awash with cheap gas.

Whisky: There you have me,

IT: Only about 300 years behind.

Wind and Tidal power: Loss making everwhere on the planet...Germans have wasted 80 billion or summink on it all...

Forest and fishing??: About 99% of Scottish nature is owned by the Queen.

Tourism will die out once we start burying more nuclear waste up there...I mean..Tourists will die.

Textiles: Of a very high quality.

Scotland gets more money from the UK than it gives back even if you factor in the dwindling oil supply.

Scots aren't stupid enough to leave the UK and be emoliated by the euro. ;)
