He genuinely is going to ride this out. Good news for the opposition in the long run.

The bloke just has no moral compass does he? Probably thinks he'll be thought of as the new Winston Churchill.

How long do we say this is good for the opposition before one way or another we run out of road? He's more Stalin than Churchill.

In the long run perhaps but in the short term sterling is tanking and our economy is fucked. The best thing for all of us is if Johnson believes his own shite and goes for a snap election. The damage the Tories are doing right now is real and affecting a lot of people.

Sunak knows a sinking ship when he sees one.

He has no reason to call a snap election now. Even his complete unawareness and thick skin will know that would be a huge gamble.

He does have a reason though. His authority and mandate to lead has been called into question. To the average man it would look like a huge mistake but to a narcissist like Johnson this could be the perfect opportunity to prove that the public still love him and to put two fingers up to his doubters. I'm not saying it's likely but if the last year has shown us anything it's that Johnson's arrogance knows no bounds and he has zero political nous.

Seems like he'd rather take down the tory party than quit himself.  That's what we are dealing with.

Surly that's why both have jumped.  To save their own careers?

My money's on a Sunak leadership bid when the inevitable happens - probably with plans to put Javid back into number 11.

Out of the frying pan....
