Kid Dynamite 7077 Posted Monday at 09:02 Share Posted Monday at 09:02 So Biden has decided to pardon his son just before he leaves office. Giving Trump a ready made excuse to do the same to anyone he pleases. Poor show, Joe.

It does look very bad but I from what I remember the prosecutors were singling him out because of who his father was by demanding jail time rather than accepting a plea bargain as is usually the case.

I think that's probably part of Biden's reasoning. Well if trump does it why shouldn't I? It's wrong like, but fuck it - it's not like Hunter Biden will ever be anywhere near a position of power ever again - he seems like the stereotypical rich kid who desperately wants to impress dad with his mad schemes he cooks up on a cocaine binge - only to be told by papa what a fucking moron he is when it inevitably goes wrong - Which I believe (and I may be wrong here) is the American dream, so I don't see why the yanks aren't celebrating it.

I know, but that's a slippery slope in politics. The left needs to try and keep some sort of moral high ground or the lines end up so blurred that the general public decide to ignore the law too Edited Monday at 09:26 by Kid Dynamite

I think the left do need to learn to play dirty in certain situations - because the right are, and it's working for them. However, I don't think the left should just scrape the bottom of the barrel - they still need to be seen as "better" in four years time when trump absolutely tanks the country again, otherwise they risk a proper project 2025 stooge taking over and the country becoming a proper handsmaid tale wankfest. Aye, don't underestimate how many centrist and apolitical Americans were sick of Trump and his sideshow at the end of his last term. The Democrats need to see out the next 4 years, sack off Kamala and Biden and bring through some fresh blood to give the public a viable party to vote for. The majority of people think Brexit was a mistake and giving young people back the opportunity to work in Europe is part of the fix. Nobody but the most blinkered would see that as a betrayal. it’s such low-hanging fruit. This is what I’m talking about with Starmer’s lack of ambition/vision. He’s scared of his own shadow. I get that he’s worried about losing the votes he gained to win the election but he may only last a single term if he doesn’t grow a pair
Renton 21746 Posted Monday at 09:39 Share Posted Monday at 09:39 Let's not call this a slippery slope, that's still a fallacy. Let's call it for what it is, outright corruption. In America, the land of the free, clearly not all people are equal in the eyes of the law. Doesn't matter who abuses power in this way, it's wrong. And just like that, the democrats have given away any moral authority they might have had and accelerated the unravelling of their deomocracy. There is no hope when both sides are corrupt.

The bloke goes on fox news weekly just to absolutely take the piss out of them. The next alt right fucktard coming through would not want to debate the bloke because he'd ruin them. Ex military too because them cunts love that. The only thing that I see working against him is he's gay and them bible belt nutters will not approve of that.
