I fucked up a little bit by going to live in America, and so not buying until my late 20s. Missed out on a period of fairly chunky little period of house price inflation, if my mates' experiences is anything to go by.

But do I get an article in the Telegraph?! Do I FUCK.

I remember that, you coming back from San Francisco and looking at house prices and thinking what the fuck?

I fucked up with my usual lack of confidence. Instead of buying the most expensive house I could afford initially, and probably still living there and being nearly mortgage free by now, I've moved house four fucking times. Waste of time, money and a lot of stress. Still, will be paid up in 10 years when I hope to retire.

The News Agents, who like all the other political journalists, spent the run up to the election forensically querying whether Reeves had just given away that she was about to put taxes up, and trying to gotcha her and Starmer into saying they'd put this or that tax up, and whether that might be enough to cost Labour their majority.

Well on yesterday's episode they're questioning Reeves on why she couldn't just be a bit more honest about taxes going up during the election campaign.

Political journalists in this country need a fucking hard reset.

Maitlis: "you've chosen to increase Employer's national insurance contributions. Leaving aside what that does to your conscience... "

".. WHY would you DO THAT?!"

Anyone see this point that the IFS have criticised the budget for not being realistic about spending? Apparently they think we're going to end up spending far more than the budget suggests we will, and have consequently accused Labour of 'playing the same stupid games' as the Tories. Still no truth in the room I guess, not that I don't understand why they're doing it.

If it makes you feel any better you'd have lost the house in the divorce anyway.

The increase in employer national insurance contributions is bad news for a lot of ordinary businesses. Could lead to lots of job losses

I was listening to Radio 4 the other morning and a business owner was complaining that the increase in the living wage + NI contributions was going to cost him £1.5m. And he only made an £8m profit last year

They've just played a clip at the end of the latest Quiet Riot podcast of Beth Rigby questioning Reeves. Really annoyed voice on her.

"I spoke to Wes Streeting before the election and put it to him that the NHS would need additional funding, and his response was that more funding was not the answer to save the NHS. You've just announced £22.6bn of extra funding for day to day healthcare for the NHS. You just have not been straight with the British public."

What do you even say to that? You're getting pulled up for trying to improve the NHS now. These journalists are fucking pathetic.

I read something by Ian Dunt the other day saying he hopes it's Badenoch because she at least has a genuinely held framework of beliefs, however mad they might be. Whilst Jenrick will say whatever mad shit he thinks will make him popular that day.

I think he's right. Badenoch is gonna be mental enough, and she's thoroughly unpleasant to boot.

She's going to be a disaster. Jenrick is much more dangerous.

Mind, Badenoch might have a framework of ideas but fuck me she says whatever is in her brain with no filter at all.

She genuinely believes in the things she says. Jenrick is a fruit loop who says whatever he thinks will curry him favour with the membership or reform voters, or whoever the fuck he wants to impress on that particular day.

The former is preferable in a politician.

That's the point Dunt was making.
