Someone is going to fall for it and then the whole system is compromised. Now perhaps you can explain to me how to hack an analogue phone line sending a data signal and then how to translate the data signal into something usable? Civil Service has however many thousand employees. The same applies in every industry. People get trained on responding to phishing emails, and the businesses invest in systems that have safeguards. It's not like legal firms aren't on email either. Or don't have electronic copies of confidential information. I guarantee this is about an unwillingness to invest in infrastructure, and an ability to dictate the terms on which they do business, much more than it is about security. You’re absolutely right that the legal profession have modern office IT systems and have had for many years but you still won’t accept that security is the reason some things are sent by fax after a detailed explanation as to why. Best of it was as different parts of the world woke up, it all started again, some cunt had sent the original mail to several global group address lists. Carnage when the yanks woke up at lunchtime for us. One of my mates (well, a mate of a mate really) accidentally forwarded a rude joke to the entire trust (probably in excess of 10,000 inboxes). Cause major IT issues and substantial offence. He was disciplined and demoted, was a bit of a miracle he wasn't sacked but then the trust were short on pharmacists at the time. He was a funny lad as it happened. I think it looks a strong budget for repairing and rebuilding the NHS, schools and housing. Most of the ‘tax’ rises have been kept away from the lowest paid - bus cost aside. And talking about how they'll have to freeze worker pay or fire people. There'll be honest, small business owners affected negatively by this, and that's genuinely a shame, but there'll also be plenty thriving businesses that can afford to make a bit less profit to pay the people that are making them a thriving business fairly. The money to sort the mess that the country has become has to come from somewhere. Of course if we could have an honest conversation about why we're in this fucking mess, that would also be nice, but of course we can't. Yet.
