Rayvin 5217
No one in the Tory party has any right to call out anyone in any other party for not being a grown up after Boris Johnson. Or Braverman. Or Truss. Or Matt fucking Hancock.
Meenzer 15524
Just seen the latest Tory party political broadcast, all about the winter fuel allowance cut. Pensioners on Chesterfield sofas stroking their well-groomed pets, fretting about how they're going to cope without the payment. Aye okay.
Rayvin 5217
Was speaking to my dad about this because he technically qualified previously despite the fact he still worked on a part time basis. Apparently he got £500 last year which he gave to a fuel poverty charity because he thought it was immoral to keep it. The man earns comfortably £40k a year working part time and his wife is full time employed still. He owns his own home which is paid off. Why in fuck would he ever need winter fuel allowance? I appreciate he's not typical by a long stretch of everyone but ffs. It's actually an insult to all younger generations that this had gone on so long.

It was largely just to appeal to a selfish, old, Tory cunt demographic. Earlier this year the income for households with pensioners overtook that of working families and they’re still fucking banging on like they’ve been robbed. Those close to the threshold who will struggle are obvious exceptions to this. They should’ve been getting more instead of rolling out to everyone based purely on age. I saw this too, loved the bit at the end when one pensioner said (paraphrasing) "Maybe they think we will forget by next election, we won't. Or maybe they think we'll be dead". Fun fact (that has been fact checked). There are more penioners today who are technically millionaires than there are who are in poverty.

Yes, no doubt true but at risk of “stating the bleeding obvious” here politics in the early - mid 21st century isn't about the truth it’s about who’s winning the propaganda war. Labour, on this issue, and on a few others that the usual right wing suspects plainly had lying in wait for the predicted change in government, are losing as we speak. The perception is that the Labour cabinet are a bunch of freeloading granny bashers. The truth is irrelevant these days. Starmer’s regime is holed below the waterline already. Hopefully they can bail and repair the damage. Suppose a lot will depend on who the tories elect as leader. Is it beyond the realms of possibility that this unknown individual will be immediately ahead of Starmer in personal approval ratings without having done a thing? Changing that after the start he’s “made” is going to be difficult. If the new Tory leader is a chocolate teapot will they turn in desperation to Farage? If the US can be gamed into voting for Trump in huge numbers in three different elections I think Farage as Tory leader can now win in the UK, mostly because the truth is no longer important or dare I say relevant in politics Edited October 3 by PaddockLad

Almost 5 years until the next GE man, who cares about polls at the moment? Getting things in order now will lead to improvements in the 5 year timeframe, in theory, in time for the next GE. I do agree with most your post but not about Farage. There is absolutely no way he will ever be PM. The higher he climbs, the more scrutiny he is under, and his beliefs on the NHS come to the fore as well as everything else, like him being a Putin stooge. He would horrify half the tory voting base. No point in comparing us to America and Trump, there is no equivalence imo.

He's such a grown up too, listen what he said abour Miliband today. Jenrick is the big concern as far as I'm concerned. As a said a few weeks back it's saying something when James Cleverly is the most reasonable option. Tugenhadt seemed reasonable enough when it came to replacing Johnson but even he seems to have gone a bit crackers - he's still the 2nd best option. Badenoch then 3rd best with Jenrick being the turd of all turds. Which likely will mean he'll win.
ewerk 30598
You've ranked them in reverse order. You want the craziest cunt in charge of the Tories because they'll never win a GE.

I think Cleverley or Tugenhat would be best for the conservative party regarding it coming out the wilderness. I don't want that though. A tory party led by Badenoch would also just be a constant source of amusement. Thankfully the way they choose their leaders all but guarantees they will not have any electoral success. I get the point. But if they appoint the option that has the best opportunity to keep the Tories out of power, they'll soon replace them. Only a matter of time before some upcoming centrist comes along who makes them electable. Give them someone from the old guard that'll keep them in the wilderness due to their associations with the previous government, but who's not likely to do anything earth shattering.
