When they arrive all passports / ID have been binned before crossing....why would you do that if genuine and are all told / coached what to claim/say the reason for crossing

Patel and Braverman: [In English] "Welcome to England. Your papers, please."

More coming out about Suella Deville's email scanda. Apparently her initial response to sending a confidential email to some random secretary was "sorry, please delete".

She was then advised by one of her own MP's that this wasn't sufficient and she should formally report the breach herself. This took her 4 hours, despite her resignation letter suggesting she'd spotted her own mistake and "rapidly" owned up to it.

This countries fucked......in 10/15 years time the supposed 40,0000 crossings will be tiny compared to what will be arriving, does anybody actually believe the government figures and do they take into account all UK ports an entry means i.e. boat/lorry etc.

In 20 years todays youngster's will be wondering why they cant get/afford a house/get a school place for kids/doctors/hospital appointments etc.......sorry if this makes me sound like an old bigot. Likewise the opinion that 80% are genuine is laughable more likely about 40% especially when 2% of Albanian men under 40 have crossed so far at the end of the day once people step of a boat on south coast they are here for good because nobody will be deported.

Rant over......and breathe

We’re certainly in a fucking mess. In no small part thanks to loads of people buying into that pov

We had a very minor data breach at work about two years. Minor on the basis only a very small number of people could’ve seen the data and they were restricted to our own government dept. It was dealt with more seriously, professionally and swiftly than Braverman’s indiscretion. The info involved was obviously of a less important nature but that’s why Braverman should’ve taken it much more seriously. No, it wasn’t my fuck up, before anyone asks

It's fairly clear that if the secretary she accidentally emailed hadn't raised the issue, Cruella wouldn't have mentioned it again.

It's a tale as old as time with this one government. Ignore as long as you can, then say sorry when forced too, then insist it's all put behind you, then eventually fall on your sword when the public outcry gets too loud to ignore.

And then get reinstated a few days later. Getting sacked for incompetence was once a ministerial ending event. Johnson changed that with Patel.

BBC news is improving tbf, they showed this very chart and most the others posted on here on news at 10 tonight. Credit where it's due. They obviously don't think the tories will be in power much longer.

If this was being said in another nation, the government would be canvassing that this is in conflict with human rights.

What must our European neighbours be thinking? These cunts are turning us into a fascist nation, it’s embarrassing and humiliating.

Reading the thread there I see he was kicked out the Labour Party because of racism. Found his home in the conservative party and the racist voters of Nottinghamshire. Shame on the cunts who voted him in.

"Rather than looking down on reality TV, we should see it for what it is — a powerful tool to get our message heard by younger generations. In fact, I think it's patronising to hear some say reality TV is beneath a politician.

"It's as clear as day that politicians like me must go to where the people are — particularly those who are politically disengaged. We must wake up and embrace popular culture."

And just so we’re clear, it has absolutely nothing to do with him publishing a book soon.

Nor anything to do with the fact that Sunak clearly has no time for him and therefore his political ambitions are in tatters.

Give it 4-5 years and he WILL be a game or talk show host.
