Funding and donors are already heading Labour's way. Tories are in a death cycle.

Serious question, does the Monarch have the authority to step in if he feels it's unduly damaging? I'm not sure of the constitutional rights of the sovereign.

It would create a constitutional crisis and would probably lead to any ambiguity being fixed by law. Not that I think he would do it anyway. 
In Australia the Governor General (the Monarch’s representative) can still I think sack the PM there. They certainly did that in the 70s and ordered a general election. Although I don’t even think that’s comparable because I think there was an issue of the PM’s party not controlling one of the houses and not being able to pass legislation
