Totally agree but then I can't fathom why they didn't do so after '97 when they had a majority of 180. Someone suggested Blair wanted PR but Brown didn't. 

Perhaps concerned that it'd change the voting dymanics - that people may be more open to voting Liberal Democrat and therefore reduce the potential of Labour's governing influence? I think it was Alex who said the other day that bringing other parties into play should be viewed as a positive. 

My Dad always said there's two considerations politically in this country -  your fundamental beliefs and then whether you want a Tory or Labour government. All thanks to FPtP.

As has been said before, I don't think 2019 is a fair representation of voting intention. It was as much, if not more, about voting for Brexit / against Corbyn than necessarily voting Tory.
