ewerk 30409
I'm guessing it's partially a result of partygate fading in people's minds.
NJS 4375
Unsurprisingly there has been some "success" with the Savile thing from what I've read - "but he was in charge" seems to be a common view from some. As I keep saying "we're not like them" will only work short term.

Tory strategy of kicking the can down the road until people forget is working. Ultimately it won't though as the levels of corruption and incompetence in our government means the next disaster is just round the corner. ANd you never know, something may still come out of the Met report/Cummings. I do find people's personal dislike for Starmer puzzling mind. I don't know what he can do more to shift perceptions. If he gets a PCN it's literal proof that he's lied to Parliament. It's up to his fellow twats then...

But then I remember he comfortably beat Johnson in every category other than "charisma" in a recent poll. Cost of diesel and petrol is shooting up now and this will have a knock on effect on virtually everything else, making inflation even worse. People are beginning to really struggle. Huge numbers of pensioners on NHS waiting lists which will not get better. Ultimately, Johnson is fucked by this anyway. I'm just losing patience I guess. Renton 21455
Farage conflating NATO with the EU and proving himself to be a Russian stooge. There's a word for him, and that word ironically enough is traitor.

Putin’s goal is not a flourishing, peaceful, prosperous Russia, but a Russia where he remains in charge. Lavrov’s goal is to maintain his position in the murky world of the Russian elite and, of course, to keep his money. Doesn't seem that much different to Johnson to me

The EU wanted to stop it, Farage & Aaron Banks saw their chance to exploit what was still a 40 year argument on the tory back benches. The policy has worked beautifully, the world is in a huge amount of trouble..

Rayvin 5189
Why informal? I mean it's good news though, and absolutely fundamental for us to succeed here. Perhaps it's a bit too confident to go out there and proclaim an alliance this early on, testing the water I guess. I hope it firms up.
Craig 6682
It's fucking depressing that, however shambolic the Tories are, it'll need something like this to topple them. Agree though, I hope it works.
NJS 4375
It makes sense but if Labour fall short I still wouldn't trust the liberals not to go into coalition with the tories again.

Best to make it 'informal' while secretly briefing that they're doing so the voters get the gist.

Renton 21455
We are fucking desperate for PR in this country, I hope a Lab-Lib coalition can facilitate it. The arguments against it are about as fucking logical as the arguments supporting Brexit. If you believe in democracy, you simply have to believe in PR, end of. Get the fucker changed.
Meenzer 15467
Frame the pro-PR campaign as "Take back control of your vote". Sorted.

Oh I think you totally underestimate the desire of the smaller political parties to get some degree of their feet inside the doors of Number 10. If it came to it, they'd go into coalition again at the drop of a hat.
Gemmill 44568
Nah they wouldn't like. It nearly finished the Lib Dems off last time, and that was with a way less toxic version of the Tories. How could they trust anything this lot promised them? There's zero chance.
