What I find amazing is how the people of the North of England and Scotland have drifted away from each other so much. They hate the tories, we embrace them. They rejected Brexit, we embraced it. They see through Johnson, we don't. And yet just a few years ago the political landscape was very similar, the border was nominal. How did it come to this? Not as simple as this of course but the Scottish versions of the Sun etc are not the same as the English versions it seeps through the consciousness. Nationalism wins and then you have the Brexit factor and the fact that 'Boris' is a celebrity to some and celebrities are a big thing in this country for some bizarre reason?
