The point is, it's not as if Israel have been plucked out of thin air on this. As you can see quite clearly at this point, I suspect.
Gemmill 44931
If you need lessons in how to kneel on someone's neck, you're even thicker than I thought. Step 1. Learn to kneel on the ground. Step 2. Substitute the ground for a neck.

RLB is a twat in general, I won't miss her, and I think this was the right move by Starmer. Whether it's "fair" is another question entirely, but not one that really matters in politics. Tom 14011
A lot of “left wingers” who have been completely sheltered from the anti-Semitism debate are absolutely fuming. Other people are rattling on about labour letting Palestine down. Seemingly okay with the fact that labour have let the British people down for over a decade now. But all I’m hearing is the voices I’ve heard for years, friends & fellow campaigners. The people impressed by this kind of action I’ll likely have never communicated with. When campaigning I knocked on a door in Lanchester, a lady shouted “shalom” & slammed the door shut.

It's also, tbf, a fantastic opportunity for him which demonstrates a good reading of politics. He's made Johnson look weak as shit (Jenrick), made a clear statement on antisemitism, and neutered the remaining elements of the Corbynite faction. It's just a great move.
Tom 14011
The far left hate him tbh but I’m happy with my vote. He’s been exceptional in prime minister’s questions. I think he’s a Fabian socialist personally, he’s just clever enough to know how to get there.
Rayvin 5223
Also my view. Or at the very least what I hope. The far left were going to hate anyone who came forward who wasn't from their team. They've been absolutely pathetic since he came in, article after article trying to undermine the guy. Pointless.

It’s about winning the election rather than the ridiculous philosophical bullshit about ‘winning the argument’ (not that Corbyn did imo but you’ll get the reference). Labour winning or at the very least carrying the fight enough to stop the tories winning next time out has never felt more important.

Monkeys Fist 42459
Starmer’s conduct since becoming leader, and this in particular, give me a sliver of shiny hope in the murky slick of matte shit that’s UK politics. He’s given Johnson, The Tory party, and Corbyn and the Labour Party, a lesson in what it should mean to be a politician and a leader. PMQs are becoming ever more satisfying as he baits the Skinbag juuust enough for him to lose his blob and take the bait, then he hooks the fucker like Robson Green on a coke-fuelled extreme fishing trip. Every time. This RLB business is another example of his consummate leadership- sees the problem, executes the solution, dusts himself down, “fuck you-what’s next?” I knew he’d be an improvement on Corbyn, I didn’t realise how good he’d be. I hope he doesn’t fuck it up with something daft, like sending pics of him sounding his todger to Dianne Abbott or something.

My problem is I’m in a bubble or “echo chamber” of far left labour supporters. Now whilst I probably “identify” as far left I have a friend who is a councillor who’s won numerous elections & knows the political system inside out, every nuance. So every now and then he guides me about how unelectable we're becoming. He’s a big Starmer man, naturally. I worked hard for fuck all, every time. It’s a long time. Just look at the graph detailing families visiting foodbanks & how it has risen, constantly. Fuck it. I want a labour government at any costs at the moment. The argument to move further left will be a lot stronger when we’re in government & suddenly children don’t have to rely on foodbanks not to be malnourished.
Monkeys Fist 42459
He’s right too- we’ll never get in on a “lefty” manifesto like Jezza tried. It’s too much for the Sun readers to take in one go Gain power with a “reasonable” opposition to the Far Right clusterfuck, then consolidate your position in power. Once that’s been done, you can start easing in more left-wing policy, but it’ll only ever work in stages.

Problem is like with Blair, in order to keep power you end up toeing the line that doesn't upset the "reasonable" people who are scared of anything major. Not that Blair wanted to do anything major but he could have pushed the boat out a bit beyond the half-decent stuff.

Or do you want to govern, reverse some of the damage done by the Tories and improve people’s lives?
Rayvin 5223
I guess third time might be the charm for the moderate wing, you never know. I still think they're fucked next time out, but not as fucked as they would have been under RLB.
