Apparently a bunch of the voter registrations in 2015 and 2017 were just people that were already on the electoral register but weren't sure.

It would be just like the fucking millenials to give us all false hope when it turns out they were just too fucking flakey to remember whether they were registered.

Aren't we the millenials? EDIT sometimes I forget the ages on here.

I'm sure some of it will be that but the positive here is that the EU elections were not long ago. That should have confirmed to many people if they were registered or not.

Whose we? We aren't a homogenous collective. Most the old timers on here are generation X.

I thought you suggested it wasn't a smoking gun? That's exactly what it looks like to me from what I've heard so far.

It's a document from two years ago and from what I gather the 'smoking gun' refers primarily to the use of non-patent drugs. I haven't read it so I'm only going off what I saw on Politics Live.

I think it's the obvious willingness to give them everything they want that's telling for me - looks more like a terms of surrender document than a give and take negotiation.

Patent expiration is a huge issue though. And Johnson was foreign secretary when these talks were on-going. I think this is a big deal, hence the Tories now blindly panicking trying to obfuscate even more than usual. The HYS in the been story suggests it's working.

I'm not suggesting it isn't signifcant and it may well be the thin end of the wedge but it'll be interesting to see if the Tories can spin it and how it'll play with the electorate.

I think most of us on here already knew what was up for sale with the US trade deal.
