Have a read of that book, CT. I think you'll find it interesting and it'll be genuinely eye opening.

Apparently according to the comments, it’s very good in pointing out the problems but less good on solutions.

I think most people would agree that the current system has its faults, but as yet I’ve heard very little about any other system working better or how a UK government could implement such unilaterally (never mind within the EU).

Unfortunately I think the solutions to most people’s concerns would fade away if politicians would put some long term policies in place regarding housing and productivity.

The Tories are currently a fag end government and I have no faith in McDonnel.

Well maybe the answer you are looking for is actually in EU sovereign states themselves (we have complete fiscal sovereignty so I don't know why you are implying the EU can stop us implementing any policy we choose).

What is wrong with a Scandinavian type democracy? They punch above their Wright economically and studies repeatedly show they are happier than UK citizens, despite worse weather, less winter sun, and eye watering beer prices.

Oh yeah, they have high taxes and big government, an anathema to people like yourself who crave a US system of personal liberty and fuck the consequences for society. That's the issue in reality, Thatcher destroyed social conscience and we are left to live with the consequences.

I don’t know a lot about the Nordic model but from what I’ve read their religion plays a large part in allowing it to work and a lot of people say it would be very hard to scale up to a country of our size.

Have any U.K. parties advocated implementing it?

Well no, besides the likes of Corbyn. Because it isn't feasible with our great free press, because it doesn't serve the masters very well.

If it was possible, would you support it? I doubt it because looking back over old posts you were boasting about taxi-ing being great cos it's so easy to evade tax. That type of mindset is against the nordic model. And before you ask, no, im not going to dig up your quote wiithout a further pladge to the SBR foundation.

Im all for anything that works. I still believe that most of the main gripes out there can be solved with better policies under the current system.

Maybe PR is the way forward.

We simply cannot deal with consensus politics in this country. It's a big old game that you either win or lose, and that's it. You of all people must appreciate that. If we did ever get PR then, god forbid, we might actually have to grow up a bit as a nation. :o

So, no, not going to happen.

:lol: I love how she does what can only be described as a panic dry retch face when he asks how she would vote.

She is fucking beyond shit at this job.

Aside from her natural awkwardness and the fact that she should have been prepared for that question I think she did okay. She can't answer it honestly so rejects the premise of the question, it's a fair enough approach.

I wonder if that does play into her thinking. It was a good question actually, one that forces her on the backfoot a bit concerning the criticism she's been getting from the rabid back benchers.

One thing I don't quite get in all of this is why she is hostage to these fuckwits? Aren't there only about 50 of them?

More than enough to bring her government down and that's what this is all about, holding on to power at any cost. If she'd any sort of backbone in her she'd announce a second referendum and walk away.

I saw a funny online yesterday.

Pic of May on the phone and a caption saying

'Hello Sky, I want to cancel my subscription but keep all my channels, The balls is in your court, over to you'

Or something along them lines
