The majority of central London voted labour which dispels a few myths. Other than that my lot went green and our neighbours Hove had a surprising labour gain. The rest of the South East is rather depressingly blue.

Saying upfront you're going to build 100,000 houses loses you that many votes automatically in the SE.

This was the point I wanted to make earlier. If it was a deliberate ploy by Sturgeon (to put the referendum back on the agenda) then that is disgraceful. Where now for the north of England?

If the Scots think they're getting anything out of a maj Tory Govt they're in for a shock. All manner of squealing and cries for this and that will fall on deaf ears. Tories won't ever break up the Union. Tories have no traction in Scotland and no motivation to do anything significant.

Labour have to show that they have a vision not just this Tory lite shit they peddled at this election.

Chukka Umuna although clearly groomed by the Politburo is not the ans.

Or maybe your boss is just a tosser :-)

Are you sure they were asking you to be an MP?....or did you realise yourself perhaps with your "skill set",beautifully illustrated with this post and indeed typical of a lot of nats' attitudes, that perhaps it was a tad beyond you?...enjoy 5 years under the Tories with 55 MPs not winning a single vote on anything...that's real power... :good:

It will take a couple of years before they realise they've fucked themselves. Also it doesn't matter what constitutional or federal types of sop the Scots are dished up....UK is run from Brussels on a great many things that will grow as the years pass. And they don't do deals.

Now the election is over 'the bastards' in the Tory party will start to make their moves. Look out for divisions surfacing soon. The 1922 want Cameron out and the 'one nation' Tories will start to reign in anything that looks too divisive. 50-60 Tory MP's will cause havoc in some of the votes that are coming up...

How do you explain hordes of farmers and small businessmen all over rural Scotland voting for the closest thing to a bunch of socialists in this country though? I can understand the central belt giving Labour a kicking but think about it man

I'll give the fishes their due they're a brilliant pair of operators but I don't think there's a quarter of you lot know what you've just signed up for.

On my way down your way now. As if the Tories winning wasn't bad enough, I've got a ticket for the match tomorrow.

What better way to lift your mood after the crushing election result. A weekend away, watching that shower of shite

I'm dreading it too and I'm only going to be watching it on a stream. What a pile of shite.

Potentially this could be amongst the lowest 3 days of my life (obviously excluding personal things). Getting to the stage where you're utterly indifferent to your side getting relegated, in fact might even find it amusing, is pretty bad.

I had to drive to Cheshire and back today to price a job.

Every village we drove through was a sea of blue placards.

I have called at least 250 people "cunts!" As I drove past.

Well, other than underestimating the collapse of the LibDem's, I pretty much nailed it - Ed totally fucking it up because his campaign strategy was non-existent, the shy Tory effect showing the polls up as total wank, and with the Greens/UKIP/Plaid making absolutely no difference to the result whatsoever.

Completely accepting blame for this disaster is the first sensible thing Ed has done in the last 5 years. If Labour want to win an election in the next 20 years, they need to wake up and smell the fucking coffee, namely:

1. You don't win a UK election by campaigning on behalf of the poor/disadvantaged. You must do what you have to do to win, then do what you can for them once you have.

2. You don't win a UK election by casting yourselves as the party of hard working people. Anyone who denies the level of support the Tories has amongst the 'ordinary working people', are just denying reality.

3. Labour will never win a UK election with a core voter strategy. Worry about winning first, then worry about what your core support wants you to do. It's that fucking simple, numbnuts.

4. Labour will never win an election if their sole strategy is that 'we're not the Tories'. It's pretty fucking obvious that there are enough swing voters who are quite happy to vote Tory if they don't believe/trust/like what you're trying to get them to vote for.

If Labour's sole strategy for the next 5 years is to blame the SNP and the press scaremongering over a Lab/SNP pact for this miserable result, then we could be looking at the first of several Tory governments. In case any of those stupid fucks have forgotten, that's what your're supposed to be preventing!!!!11

From 22000 voters? No it isn't. Its 1992 again.

Has Paddy Ashdown eaten his fucking hat yet?

The exit poll was correct to within 1% for every party except the SNP, and even then it hardly mattered - predicting 30% instead of 34%

Will push ahead with those boundary reforms the Lib Dems wouldn't back him on last time too I'd wager.

Yup. Baffles me why, when we've got all all these fucking pundits and commentators all over the TV for 24 hours, I've not seen one of them point out that this was probably top of David Cameron's To Do List if he got a majority. If he gets that done, he solidifies his majority and makes it even easier to win elections in future.

You've just described New Labour with points 1 to 3. And yet, that is exactly what has lost Scotland according to many. Labour are between a rock and a hard place now. Once (inevitably) Scotland fucks off, they'll have to drift even further right to survive, as that's what the larger southern based population demands.

Whichever way I look at it, the north, but in particular the north east, is fucked. Meanwhile CT grins like a Cheshire cat on speed.
