Ken 119
China are preparing for war. If you think otherwise please state your case. First conquest will be the islands the Philipines and Vietnam claim. Second will be Taiwan. Third will be the islands Japan control, and this is the most important. The commies want retribution for what happened in WW2. The biggest show for such little gain except the gloat. The US won't like it. The republicans will be re-selected for power. They'll take them on with the help of its asian allies. The result is either a Pacific controlled by China or a contained China dominated by the US and Japan, Status quo. But China have the edge given the relations with Russia strengthening. Edited May 24, 2014 by Ken

Ken 119
Complicated apparently. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiwan,_China Not really. Taiwanese understand and respect democracy. Mainland China don't. When individuals enlist in the army, navy or airforce they pledge first and foremost to the Communist Party. That there is the disagreement.. Ken 119
Taiwan and Vietnam are also communist yes? This war you got a timeline of when it will happen? No. Taiwan are and have always been a democracy, Vietnam are red. But Vietnam are fast becoming anti-Chinese; destruction of anything Chinese in Vietnam tells you that. This is not a war about ideoligy. This is a war about national pride. China are treading on toes and soon they'll be stompimg. This war of assertion will start within the next three years. China will be ready then.
Kevin Carr's Gloves 3894
That will be a war on multi fronts while they face terrorist attacks and people wanting democracy? I don't agree war is bad for business.
Ken 119
China are building up to it. Spending hundreds of billions of dollars a year on its military to modernise and expand. Never been a nation in history that has built up and spent so much on its navy for it not to be used in a conflict. They've knocked the top off a mountain to build this which they'll use for any operations against Vietnam, Philippines, Taiwan and Japan; http://www.taipeitimes.com/News/taiwan/archives/2012/05/28/2003533924 Taking the Spratley Islands (claimed by Vietnam and the Philippines) by force won't be a big job or take up any significant resources. Neither have what you would call a navy of any repute. Communist Vietnam see it coming; http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2014-05-16/vietnam-tries-damage-control-after-deadly-anti-chinese-riots So do Japan; http://www.japantoday.com/category/national/view/sdf-drill-simulates-retaking-island The Japanese conservative government want to change its constitution to allow for collective self defence. The people are against it but the govt will get their way. They are also increasing their military spending which for decades has never exceeded past 1% of its GDP. With its wealth and rise in power, China want to redraw the territorial lines on post WW2 maps and reclaim what they believe is rightfully theirs. They will bully (as they are with Vietnam and the Philippines currently) and literally swamp these areas with its military and crush anything that will get in their way. Doing this will not have any significant effect on its economy. After they claim the South China Sea, they'll turn their attention to Taiwan, and then the East China Sea where Japan and the US are waiting. ChezGiven 0
National Front gets comfortably the biggest vote share in the European elections in France. Ouch. And UKIP wins historic election in the UK, first time in modern history that neither Labour or Conservatives have won. Double ouch. 28% of the UK vote went to racist fuckwits, only 25% of France's vote went the same way. You could go for triple and quadruple ouch in Denmark and Austria too.
