I see Osborne is seeking to make political capital out of the Philpotts case, and wants a debate on the issues of benefits it raises. Is there no level this Daily Mail appeasing cunt won't sink to? Utterly sickening.

Fair enough if we can have a debate about all the people that have comitted suicide because of his benefit changes as well.

Daily Mail has been a mission to put an end benefits for years. Every week they find some new person who gets ten million quid a week benefit money to gloat how gullible people who work are.

On main news on BBC just there whilst covering the Philpot (murder of 6 kids) and looking like the greased, knotted condom full of aqueous sludge that he is Osborne took the opportunity to question "taxpayers subsidising welfare claimants like this"

This on the back of Beeb's coverage and interactive website of 'which class are you' of yesterday .

Maybe they could fund a BBC initiative whereby they post out a jar of petrol and a book of BBC matches to all 'benefit claimants' so they can just set fire to themselves on the spot .

Lots of MP's were getting asked that question on a radio 5 live phone in yesterday, welfare subsidising that lifestyle etc, and all we're giving the usual fodder answers.

A caller into the show nailed it. If we want to have a compassionate welfare system, unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about families of that type. As soon as children are involved there is no way of cutting benefits etc.

Society must accept the bad apples warts and all.

Its predominantly the irksome timing of these comments though and the attempted catch-net grouping and associations they allure to that are sickening imo .

Turning society in against itself .

I haven't read the mail or watched Osbourne, but over the last 48 hours the majority of punters in the cab have voiced the scroungers comments to different degrees.

I agree its unpleasant for either side to "use it", as a means to an end or tar all with the same brush, but I think you have to be careful suppressing discussion about it by the public.

I remember when Labour were in power and anyone who voiced concerns about immigrants was branded homophobic / racist etc. Now out of power Labour admit they ballsed it up and all parties now discuss this issue more sensibly.

The bottom line is that nothing can be done about these rogue families if we want to look after kids in society.

Finally, this is why they don't let George out on his own very much. Creepy man.

Reposted from other thread but whatever, I see that the conversation is in both threads and ive just spend a while collecting some strand of logic to how I feel about all of this. That Philpott's psychopathy and fundamental, extremist attitudes to, and treatment of, women has been overlooked and replaced for a discussion regarding the benefits system in a shameless attempt at political point-scoring by the Daily Mail and then one George Osborne, is perhaps the most thoroughly depressing, absurdist statement/ntion that has come from this government. By disregarding the core element - and, possibly, catalyst - of the tragedy (Philpott's abusive treatment of, and views on, women, which deserve an interrogation on a social level as many men hold similar alarming ideas, and a similar perspective on women), Osborne and the Daily Mail have aligned genuine disability, unemployment in a time of recession, and the benefit system with (and passively suggested it is a cause of) amongst other things psychopathy, brutality, the degradation of humanity, and general amorality. So fucked up, so wrong, so very sad and what's worse is that I can do absolutely fuck all to rectify the irrationality of the situation. The shamelessness of it man, it's almost comical. :/

^ if I could have articulated my thoughts more coherently etc .

Taking everyone's eye off the prize by synically and purposefully manufacturing divisions in society by repet

ative associations of economic/social status with extreme examples . Lower than a snke's belly .

And sadly it's working .

If you can stomach it, try and listen to Edwina Curry talking on the Stephen Nolan show on 5Live regarding disability allowance btw (from Saturday gone,) . The pervasive mindset at play is sickening. Despicable razor-c****d bitch .

Ed

I was askew with which show it was on and the specifics of the topic .

Notwithstanding Ive found audio clip, bottom of page(on DM site!)

Point still stands. Listen to the pervasive, belittling accusational tone and pre-programmed check lists

Richard Hawkes, chief executive of the disability charity Scope claimed the incident “shows how wildly out of touch the Chancellor is with disabled people in the UK”.

He said: “They will see this as rubbing salt in their wounds.

"Many are already struggling to make ends meet, yet the Chancellor’s response has been to cut vital financial support and squeeze local care budgets.”

Mr Hawkes added: “This picture tells you everything about George Osborne’s toxic attitude to benefits.

"He talks about a broken system abused by scroungers – but has chosen to take advantage of it himself.”

Witnesses told how Mr Osborne and his entourage went for a McDonald’s as his driver sat inside the official car before popping out for a crafty cig.

One disgusted onlooker – a businessman in his 40s who admitted being a Tory voter – said: “I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw his driver pull into the disabled parking bay.

"It’s not as if they were in a rush to move. The car park wasn’t exactly full and there were plenty of other, ordinary spaces.”

 While I'm far from his biggest fan I think there's been a bit of an overreaction.

A lot of people seem to be mentally handicapped when it comes to parking. It's as if they just can't mentally grasp the fact that they could park a couple of hundred yards from their destination and walk from there.

Striking piece on the real costs to real people of the Tory's welfare reform. Says if all when it's coming from the Torygraph too.

http://www.telegraph...-the-maths.html

Meanwhile 13,000 millionaires are getting an average tax cut of £100,000.

It's an absolute disgrace what the Tories are doing to this country.
