You'd love today's Leader in the Daily Mail CT.

Apparently this government is protecting front line services (lewisham hospital anyone?)

And it's the generous welfare state that is to blame for the country's debt problem.

To borrow a favourite DM phrase; 'you couldn't make it up.'

It's such a hate filled rag, designed to stir up venom in middle England and victimise the poor.

No offence but you seem to lap up the headlines as well without going beyond them.

EG. Part of the lewisham problem is the health authority it belongs is fucked because of the PFI Labour signed up to. Something like 20 - 30% of its budget goes straight to the PFI, the same fuckers who charge the NHS £40O to change a bulb! This was Labour at its worst, signing future generations money away for short term political gain.

Ive never heard one politician blame the countrys debt problem on the benefit system alone. (Link if you have one). But every MP knows that it is way out of control compared to what it was originally intended for and that it didnt half get expanded under 13 years of Labour when they should have tried reforming the system themselves.

The bottom line is that UK plc cant afford to pay for everything we need to pay for and thats only going to get worse as people live longer.

I wasn't aware that your a tory.

On another subject I would be interested know where the political stances of toontastic members come from. What are the main influences on your values etc. Could be anything really, religion, political ideology, social background etc

The daily mail editorial I refer to refers to the welfare state throughout like it's the reason behind our debt levels when in reality it couldn't be further from the truth. The welfare state, along with the NHS, are two great British institutions, but your party want to dismantle both and they're trying to use the debt crisis asan excuse to do so. Like its the poor that are to blame. Cuts there won't scratch the surface of our debt either. It's blatant populism.

Daily Mail readers lap this shit up and comments from Osborne about rewarding workers and not the work sky whose curtains are still drawn at midday fan the flames. Like most people who at on benefits want to be there ffs. Having no money sucks. These aren't the people to blame.

As well he shouldn't. If the financial centre gets over fucked they will simply move to another part of the world.

London needs to be more self-confident in that respect (and Boris needs to show more confidence in London, which isn't usually a problem for him). The odd player here and there might leave, but pay is far from everything, even for financial providers and their staff.

Neil Hamilton, what a horror of a man.

 Hands across the divide to agree with you on that one. Remember when him and his wife were all over the "light media" for several years after he lost his seat? Urgh.
