Tooj 17
Alternatively we could stop giving benefits or free medical treatment to anyone who isn't a UK national - though I suppose they'd just hang around until they got UK citizenship anyways. Maybe a better idea would be that all immigrants could take part in a 'Running Man' style show where survivors get to stay in the UK Same old Alf Garnett. Sorry I meant Armchair Pundit. It needs to be applied to British expats like Chez and Parky as well though, I'd buy that for a euro.

ChezGiven 0
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2013/jan/28/qatar-halts-chelsea-barracks-scheme Qatar has put its biggest single investment in London on hold, citing concerns about the British economy. The gas and oil-rich state has placed the £3bn Chelsea Barracks housing development under review and a source close to the project said that while it could still go ahead, one option was to sell the site without building what has been dubbed a "Gucci ghetto" of 450 luxurious residences and 123 affordable homes.Qatari Diar, the emirate's property arm, has planning permission for the scheme, which includes seven-bedroom mansions as well as one-bedroom flats. But today the £1bn site stands empty with weeds growing through the concrete. "It now seems a huge gamble to deliver all of this," a Qatari source told the Guardian. "[The developers] will take their time and see how the numbers stack up in due course." He added that while the scheme could still be built, "they could sell [the site] any time". The rethink of the Qataris' flagship project comes as the latest UK economic data show Britain heading for a triple-dip recession. Qatar is now the richest country in the world per capita and already owns 80% of the Shard, the tallest building in western Europe, all of Harrods and the US embassy in Mayfair and is joint owner of the Olympic village and the Shell Centre on the South Bank. Rayvin 5217
Hilary Clinton steps down from her post as Secretary of State. Unrelated to this news, heard from a lot of sources that she is being groomed as the next Democratic candidate. Thoughts? Not a good thing (the future Presidential candidate bit). Ever since she came out with that insane story about landing in the Bosnia under sniper fire, (with it later emerging that she was in fact greeted by a small child who gave her a flower), I've not been able to take her seriously. I mean, I know all politicians lie but I feel like once they're exposed doing so, it shouldn't just be ignored. TheTaffer 0
Hilary Clinton steps down from her post as Secretary of State. Unrelated to this news, heard from a lot of sources that she is being groomed as the next Democratic candidate. Thoughts? If the Republicans are stupid enough to select another white man as their candidate she'll win, if on the other hand they select one of their young latinos it could be a close run thing. She's done a great job as secretary of state imo

Christmas Tree 4725
Why would the economy pick up though? Austerity doesn't usually lead to growth Lots can happen in two years. And as the writer points out, the public still hold Labour responsible and distrust their ability to manage the economy. The Conservatives dont have to ensure the streets are paved with goal, more so that they can show things getting better and "dont let those bastards fuck it up again", rhetoric.
