I agree with that. But don't think this couldn't be important if in some of the swing states Hillary lost votes to third party candidate because of this. Iirc the 2000 election came down to a few hundred strategically placed votes didn't it?

If this had been the other way round, the AK47s would have been on the streets. Trump supporters have the mentality of Brexit voters taking their pens to the ballot box. They won't accept defeat and I fear for the US.

He's actively encouraged it with some of his comments tbf, constntly talking about the "system" rigging the election against him, and how second amendment devotees might bear arms against her if she meddles with their rights. I'd pity America if he wins but even if he loses, it could be chaos. His supporters are among the most unhinged "patriots" conceivable. All you need to do is watch a montage of voxpops from one of his rallies. Edited by Dr Gloom

Yeah Trump's statements are on a similar level to the right wing press in this country and their ramblings about high court judges blocking brexit. Except arguably worse because Trump supporters have guns.

On the plus side, all the polls seem to suggest that Hillary has this sewn up, and while I won't relish seeing her take power, it'll be a relief compared to Trump.

The US will at least be in a holding pattern for a few years.

True, and it certainly could play a part. Comey is screwed if it does though. In fact he's probably screwed either way now.

The funniest thing to watch has been the Obama back flips with reg to him slamming Hilary in 2008 and now says she's cushty...

funnier than the video of trump fawning over the clintons from 2008?

The biggest conspiracy of this election has been the emails story. In March 2015, the NYT broke the story that Hilary had used a private server. From there on in, the Republicans have tried to elevate this story to the point where people genuinely believe she should be in prison. What has driven this story, isn't the revelation of her use of the server, it's the secondary sub plot of leaked emails driven by whoever (Republicans, Russians, Trump himself, Anonymous Bernie fans). The leaks are not a coincidence though, they are designed to cut through the population just enough to raise distrust.

If every politician's thought were exposed publicly then they would all stand accused of the cynicism and tricks that Clinton appears to engage in during her campaign. What surprises me is that it surprises people that our politicians behave cynically and in their own interests.

Anyway, the manipulation here is from the right, not from be left as the only reason Clinton won't win because the strategy or manipulation of the email story has worked. I blame the MSM and the NYT for breaking the story ;)

It's almost like the 'scandal' is front running 'the scandal'. "Yeah what we do is start a completely harmless scandal and we'll even get the FBI to play along"....Done. ;)

Haven't seen anyone say they were surprised by any of the Clinton mails.

From setting up her home server to the Podesta mails to the Weiner mails, it all very much confirmed whatever anyone thought of Clinton in the first place - good politician doing what all politicians do or liar doing what liars do.  it only depended on your preconceived view of her.

Many on the right have defended Clinton and  circled the wagons around her to keep Trump from getting in and upsetting the status quo.  See David Frum on Bill Maher Friday gone for example.

Speaking of which, Maher has performed a mea culpa and taken back all he said about Bush, Cheyney, McCain and Romney to join the big elite party in the centre all getting along and agreeing nothing is worse than anything outside.  It's a pretty disgusting thing to have done and bestows legitemacy on all the deeds previously perceived as evil by the left.

The McCarthyite red scaring that both sides have engaged in is the most worrying thing in all this.  Heightening tensions with Russia for short term political gain could have massive long term repercussions.

I think there's an important distinction to be made between the Trump campaign and the Republicans.  Establisment republicans have kept quiet about anything and everything that has been revealed about Clinton, because they're all up to the same stuff by and large and she's only in the limelight because she's running.

Trump has been able to elevate criticism beyond what would be reasonable, not only because he's an inept liar that will say anything about anyone who opposes him, but also because he's not a career politician that has used these methods his whole life and could be exposed for it himself.

Who's gonna win Parky?

Is the world fucked either way?

Are we gonna win the league cup?

Trump.

Yes.

Liverpool.

The establishment had everything set. Hilary had her campaign manager at Bilderberg, she had 500m campaign funds and 90% of the MSM on her side...It's weird watching the whole thing unravel. :)
