ChezGiven 0
I always find meeting and talking to supporters much more insightful than reading about them on the internet. This is a very politician's way of saying you're working for his campaign. Has he grabbed you by the pussy yet? Indirectly i am. And yes.

Happy Face 29
I always find meeting and talking to supporters much more insightful than reading about them on the internet. Supporters who got their information off the internet I just wasn't sure how relevant Trump supporters were to the discussion about presidential power and how effectively Obama, his predecessor or whoever replaces him is able to exert it. I'm glad you're excited about your trip though. One of the popular nufc accounts was tweeting from a Trump rally yesterday (@ToonArmyMIA ). Was interesting to see how few people turned up. Will be interested to hear your findings on the psyche of a Trumpian.
ChezGiven 0
Because you asked me a direct question about whether i supported Trump. I was addressing all of the questions as i assume you are able to hold them in your head rather than needing formatted signposts. I don't support Trump was an answer to that question and i was explaining that despite having a great insight into how the rational, educated Trump supporters think, despite a Trump win being better for me personally and despite all the email scandals, i'd still vote for Clinton. How would a Trump win be better for you personally, out of interest? That sounds like a rare point of policy in what has become a shambles of an election. I would never have thought to ask if you supported Trump. I assumed no-one on here would actually prefer him to Clinton. I asked if a victory for Trump would concern you "given the limits on presidential power that have so stifled Obama". Because you seemed to be agreeing with Parky that Obama's hands were tied on most important issues anyway. I couldn't give a shit what Randy the Racist thinks of that question. So are you as unconcerned about a Trump victory as Parky, Chez, given the limits on presidential power that have so stifled Obama? Is the question you asked and the one i answered. I ignored the caveat as i dont think the caveat is relevant to the first part of the question. The logical implication of your argument is that no president is important as power is stifled which lacks any form of nuanced thinking i thought it was best to move on. Do we really have to waste time doing this?
Park Life 71
It's worthy to note that most presidents don't know what is actually going on and the bits they do find once in office turns their hair white. ChezGiven 0
All true but Obama was a democrat being dragged to the right by the Republicans who are funded by the neoconservative nutters like the Foch brothers. The influences of the CIA, the military and the corporations that support them act as an anchor to the Democrats from moving too far to the left. A Republican president doesnt have the same forces anchoring him from moving right. I think that sums it up for me.

Rayvin 5223
There is no right and left. That sums it up for me. Not quite there yet on the right/left bit, but I think the battle of our time is between the establishment and everyone else. Broadly agree with the sentiment. The logical implication of your argument is that no president is important as power is stifled which lacks any form of nuanced thinking i thought it was best to move on. Do we really have to waste time doing this? Whey the discussion I was having with Parky was all about his view that the caveat meant Trump would be a perfectly fine choice. I was taking the opposing view to the one you agree lacks nuanced thinking. i was saying Obama has had plenty of power and Trump would too. That's why I found it odd you jumped in and started arguing the reasons why Obama could do nothing in his time, even when he had majorities across both houses. Hence the question being written in the format it was. I agree, you have wasted our time though.
ChezGiven 0
It was your straw man not mine ffs You then even got distracted by my reasons for being concerned with Trump. And you have the nerve to blame me for wasting time. He did not have majorities across both houses. He had the house with him for 2 of 6 years. Only Reagan, Clinton, Nixon and Eisenhower have had similar. Trump will also be kept in line through the checks and balances but lets face it, something needs to be done about ISIS and something needs to be done to increase security. I dont expect Clinton to back away from that but i trust her judgement better than spanner face's.

Renton 21640
Beige is a fairly good description for this nonsense. HF, can you remind me again why you think that every political campaign needs complete transparency but private citizens should have complete protection? I'm really struggling to understand how you justify the publication for these emails whilst having a different standard for yourself.

HF, can you remind me again why you think that every political campaign needs complete transparency but private citizens should have complete protection? I'm really struggling to understand how you justify the publication for these emails whilst having a different standard for yourself. Can you show me where I said either of those things? I don't think all political campaigns need complete transparency, I think where they have been discovered to be doing wrong then exposing that is in the public interest. I don't believe private citizens should have complete protection. I am not suspected of any wrong doing or to be in possession of any information that would expose wrong doing, so I AM entitled to a different standard as is any private citizen not doing any wrong against the law or the public interest.
