donaldstott 0
Hopefully we can get Cisse off and running for the season. Would love to see another clean sheet and 2-3 goals. Don't remember the last 'comfortable' win we had, which would be great for confidence.
scotty84 0
Steven Taylor is out with a training ground injury according to .co.uk, so at least the back 4 should be unchanged (I feared that Pards would throw him back in this weekend). desmondTUTU 0
She does like football, right? she has been to loads of games and loves the toon too. apart from the 2 derbies last season she has a 100 percent lucky charm win record. essembeeofsunderland 811
Well if we don't win this weekend we certainly won't win away to Everton next week.
The Fish 10963
If Newcastle United beat Hull City on Saturday they will move to ten points from five games and that would represent their best start to a Premier League season in thirteen years. Quite incredible when you consider the doom and gloom that has hovered around Gallowgate for the past year or so.
OTF 7485
It's a pretty easy start, man city aside.
aimaad22 4222
Well if we don't win this weekend we certainly won't win away to Everton next week. We're perfectly capable of doing just that to be honest. Anyway football really doesnt work like that anymore, the league is more competitive then ever. Happy Face 29
It's a pretty easy start, man city aside. I'll be busting out my easiest start stats in a few weeks. Exciting times.
Tom 14013
It's a pretty easy start, man city aside. Sunderland had an easy start & so have plenty other teams. I wouldn't say Aston Villa away is easy & teams like Fulham & West Ham set up to make it hard for the home team. 10 men behind the ball etc. With the resources available I'd say we've made a good start - including the League Cup game btw - if we win on Saturday which wont be easy - we'll have made a fantastic start. No doubt about it.
The Fish 10963
I don't see us losing. As we've said before, we're a confidence team. A solid win against Fulham, a good away performance against Villa. HBA is flying, Cabaye is settling, the defence is looking solid and so on and so forth. ...hate being optimistic. Happy Face 29
All we know for a fact with NUFC is they do the unexpected. Taking my nephew to his first game, so hope we don't score too many. That sort of thing can build expectations unreasonably.
Tom 14013
We've just got to hope injuries and fate interrupt every single aspect of Pardew's game plan or we'll lose 0-64 with Tiote in goal and Steven Taylor up front whilst Remy & Ben Arfa clean Jonas' boots. Tom 14013
All we need is a manager to pick eleven names* and tell them where to stand, like all the greats! *no more mind, or the magic is spoiled.

The Fish 10963
Head-to-head Newcastle and Hull have only met twice in the Premier League. They drew 1-1 at Hull in March 2009, while Hull won 2-1 at Newcastle in September 2008. The highest-scoring match between the two clubs was in their first-ever league meeting, on Christmas Day in 1934, when Newcastle won 6-2 in the old Division Two. Newcastle United Newcastle haven't won three Premier League games in succession since a spell of six on the spin in March-April 2012. The Magpies have kept clean sheets in their last two Premier League home games, but have also scored just one goal in their last five Premier League games at St James' Park. Hatem Ben Arfa has registered more attempts from open play than any other Premier League player this season (13). Cheik Tiote has picked up only one yellow card in his last nine Premier League appearances after collecting 31 yellows and one red in his previous 67 appearances. The Ameobi brothers (Shola and Sammy) are yet to record a shot on target this season in 206 minutes of play. Hull City Hull have won only one of their last 11 games in the Premier League, drawing four and losing six. The Tigers' last five Premier League fixtures have produced just seven goals. Danny Graham has now gone 20 Premier League appearances without scoring, with his last top-flight goal coming on 1 January 2013.
David Kelly 1260
Graham's bound to score today so we'll need to score at least two.
