joewritesonasia 0
Fifty Shades of Black & White (The hopes the dreams and the despair following Newcastle United Football Club) I am an ancient Mag now resident in SE Asia where I am an active member of the Indonesia Toon Army (ITA), NUFC Singapore and Newcastle United Malaysia Forums, total membership is over well over 5000. These are all dedicated supporters and we could hardly call the Glory Supporters or Fair Weather Fans, they spend a fortune on following our beloved club, traveling long distances to watch the games on Sat TV, buying or getting the kit made up, actually playing the beautiful game plus walking the walk and talking the talk. The only thing they cant do, apart from a very few lucky ones is actually travel to the UK and go to Saint James Park to see and hear the atmosphere first hand then walk the streets of our famous city seeing the landmarks they ve heard mentioned on websites, in person and on TV commentaries so may times. There are many many books available detailing the Club History plus biogs blogs and Fan Mags I am trying to fill a gap. I'm writing a book about what it was like to actually stand on the terraces, the singing the pushing the shoving the pub crawls before and after the games traveling to away game what it felt like walking through a strange city never knowing if there was a team of nutters waiting around the next corner to waylay you.The shitty grounds and the rucks on the terraces theres quite a few books out there covering such stuff but not translated into foreign languages which is what I am attempting and of course therell be Geordie and English versions as well mainly because Google translation have not included our regional repertoire yet bastards! I have most of the stories and I have the words...what I need is the pics to go with them...I am trying to download from the internet but my connection is prehistoricthen there is the problem of ownership and royalties. I wasted nearly a week trying to get permission to use one old image of SJP only to be asked for a hundred quid for the rights to use it PLUS a percentage of book sales the names Joe Writeson NOT fuckin Stephen King. Logistics. As most of my potential customers are not the richest people on the planet I will be trying to sell this book for a under a tenner and it costs four pounds fifty per copy to print plus post and packaging to deliver, putting it on bookshelves is not an option at the minute as shop owners and distributors then want their cut. So anyone who would like to donate any old photos or scans by email, plus any details to go with them is welcome, cant promise much in the way of payment but youll definitely get a name check then well try and work something out joewritesonasia@gmail.com My first proper published book From Jarrow to Java (on a beer scooter) is available in various formats direct from author note to Merkins bugger all to do with scooters although I will own a classic Lambretta SX200 again eventually HtFL The MoJoe is werkin.. Howmanheyman 33231
Surely there's images on the internet that are public and don't 'belong' to anybody? I can't help you on that score, I've no personal photos of old games either as I never went to the match with a camera! Maybe Ajax Andy knows a bit on photo copyright stuff, he's an Everton fan who gets on here and a photographer I believe.
joewritesonasia 0
Thanks for the suggestions and links so far...aye Howmanheyman...carrying a camera was hardly top of our list of priorities in far off days...how did the song gan again 'we are loyal supporters Geordie born and bred ..we only carry hatchets to bury in your heads' or some such playfull banter! However I did once carry a huge bottle of fizzy plonk into Hillsborough...or try anyway...the law woooden let me take it in the ground so we drunk it ootside...early celebration Supermac 2 Burnley nowt
