Either way, not for the want of trying sooner....  She was a youthful, carefree and beautiful actress but at 16 should have been off-limits. Eager to increase her career, Harris promoted a friendship with Chaplin which soon turned into a casual fling. They had been dating a few months when Harris announced she was pregnant but this was found to be a false alarm. However, the damage was still done and to reverse the burgeoning scandal, Chaplin impulsively married the young girl on October 23, 1918. Assumed it was because when i double checked the name to find she was 16 and had a pregnancy scandal with Chaplin. Â But no, it was Lita Grey. Another one of his perverted daliances which forced him into marriage with a girl he didn't even like... Martin Luther King and his prostitutes, Gandhi was really nasty to his wife. Psychologists have been ruminating on the particular kind of ego that drives successful people and it ain't pretty...The Woody Alllen thing is a real shame and clearly not appropriate but hey what can we really say about it all...It's everywhere...Brands are more or less using children as sexual imagery - Gap, H&M and so on...Lee jeans ads come to mind from a few years back..
