scoobos 298
We take more of our shots from inside the box (18 or 6 yard) than Spurs do. Not so sure about this one, as you've got Bale at Spurs who probably messes the stats up completely , as hes scored many outside the box.
Happy Face 29
We shoot from inside 6 yards only one third as much as we did 2 years ago. Even though we take more shots, we fashioned 61 shots within the 6 yard box then, compared to 21 now. *Premier League only OP updated
Happy Face 29
Some more drawings for all you pie chart fans. Appearances.... 2011/2012 Here you can see just how consistent the spine of our team was last season. 6 players all started over 30 games. Over the season a manager selects 418 players to start a game. Just those 6 players were selected 211 times...over 50%. Only 24 players were needed. 6 of those playing 2 games or less. which meant a core of 18 players. Remarkably consistent selections. 2012/2013 Here you can see just how inconsistent the past season has been. This time, only 3 players managed 30 games. We had to go through the 8 most played players before we'd covered half of the seasons selections. 27 players were needed this time, only 2 of them playing 2 games or less. Which means our core was a much wider spread of 25 players. There was none of the consistency in team selection of the year previous, less opportunity to work up a settled system. Happy Face 29
Something to be happy about at the end of this shitstorm of a season On another note... On average teams drop one or two places the season following Europa League qualifying. However, since the Europa League started in it's current format 4 years ago not a single qualifying team from England has taken such a downturn in the league. We dropped 11 places. Fulham had the next worse drop when the dropped just 5 places from 2009 to 2010.

trophyshy 7083
Average attendance up on last season, which is staggering really. http://www.bbc.co.uk...ngland-22541130 8th best attended club in Europe, not doing much to live up to it, as ever. Tom 14012
Weirdly though - if anyone like Milan goes through a tough time or they don't spend the fans just fuck off. If Arsenal finished 5th then 6th I wouldn't like to speculate what their crowds would be.

Happy Face 29
FOOTBALL – After 36 matches of this Premier League season, Newcastle United have taken 25 points fewer than they did from the same 36 fixtures last season when they finished fifth. Declining so much from one season to the next is relatively rare and has only occurred 15 times in the past 31 seasons and just once since 1995/1996. Perhaps not surprisingly, eight of the clubs whose points total declined so much were relegated that season. The other seven had all finished in the top five the previous season but this is not necessarily enough as Ipswich Town found in 2001/2002 when they went down a season after finishing fifth. If Newcastle United join this group at the end of the season, they will be the third team, after Leeds United and Ipswich Town, to have suffered such a decline more than once. The Magpies were relegated 24 years ago, a season after finishing eighth in Division One with 56 points. Their decline of 25 points left them bottom of the league a season later. In a week where the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson has made big news, one further point arises from the table below. Manchester United’s points total fell from 81 to 51 in Ferguson’s second full season in charge. A season later, United dropped a further three points and two more places to 13th on 48 points. At that moment, Ferguson had won nothing at United although the 1990 FA Cup was won a week later. In 1991, United rose to sixth position and they never again finished outside the top three in the subsequent 22 seasons. http://infostradaliv...rget-for-one-of In the end we got one more point so fell just shy of the top 15 by dropping 24 in total. The last paragraph on Fergie is noteworthy though.
Happy Face 29
This graph is the trend in shot accuracy (shots on target/total shots) at NUFC over the last 24 games based on a 5 game average. So the average accuracy for this season (5 games) is marked by the Hull marker at the end, which is 23%. This graph shows the change since the transfer window closed in January. jonasjuice 0
Well more long shots and less high quality chances created is obviously one thing that could have led to the reduced accuracy. Must have mislaid my stats for that though.
Happy Face 29
Can you overlay it with number of shots taken? Not really a comparable trend. Slight growth.
Happy Face 29
less high quality chances That's what I'd attribute it to like. Think Cisse's lack of goals stems from the quality of chances created as much as his own dry patch. He was never gonna keep scoring goals like he did at Chelsea.
