Christmas Tree 4725
Walked past a house on our estate with it in their front garden the other day. It was unnaturally green, although I gather you can get more realistic looking versions. Like carpets. The £8 a metre stuff is what green grocers use for display. The £35 a metre stuff looks better than real grass.

Christmas Tree 4725
So 7 or so hours later and I sieved every bit of that massive mound and got loads of quality soil. The rest went over the fence. So I now have most of the soil and the patio back. Happy days

Christmas Tree 4725
Well apparently I need another big bulk bag of soil (about a tonne) to finish this off. I've researched and found out that Rolawn loam top soil seems to be the one to get with prices varying from £70 to £130. Just a wild stab if anyone has bought any cheaper recently? (If only we still had a landscape gardener poster)!!!

Monkeys Fist 42457
In hundreds of years, archaeologists will be stood around The Boldon Pit, puzzling over it's formation. " It's possibly an impact crater, although it lacks any ejected material...... " " It could be man-made, although it's from an extremely crude and simple community. " Some lowly intern , having trawled through centuries of internet records, finds this page...... " No, it's none of that, it's just some useless tit who needed assistance finishing a shit ". (If only we still had a landscape gardener poster)!!! Dobbies are doing 80 litres for 12 quid. Apparently a ton is around 750 litres, which would be £112.50. So no, not cheaper than you've found it. There's a farm near mine that's advertising bags of top soil for 2.50 a bag, but it doesn't say how big the bags are.

I can get top soil free off gum tree etc but its this Rolawn loam stuff that's meant to be the dogs bollocks. As its probably going to end up being down a while I might as well use it. LoveTheBobby 1
*wordtothewise* 'Cheap' topsoil comes with an integral assortment of free weeds so depending on the type of area you want it for might be worth paying the extra .
