Trying to offload Cabaye, Tiote and Taylor??

I thought so:

Taylor - http://www.nufcblog.com/2013/04/27/magpies-linked-with-18m-cameroon-international-player-exchange-deal/ and more believably, for Remy http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-transfer-news-alan-pardew-2039191

Cabaye, I thought this was blatent, why make comments to Sky Sports, when no bids are on the table, saying he's so good? why?

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11678/8837962/transfer-news-alan-pardew-hoping-to-keep-yohan-cabaye-at-Newcastle

More tentative, but It was the best link I could find at a moments notice (I do remember a pardew interview where he says he could go)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2360145/Newcastle-boss-Alan-Pardew-says-bid-players-need-blow-doors-off.html

Tiote aside, the other two are pretty blatent adverts for no reason.

Oh dear.

Anyway... local press saying we're back in for Bent? What would be he point if we brng in Gomis? We need players who can offer different options; Cisse, Gomis and Bent are too similar.

I imagine we're speaking to Bent to put pressure on Gomis.

What lad who went to Cardiff?

Less than 1 in 2 bad now? Fair enough if less than 1 in 2 is 1 in 10 but when it is marginally less than 1 in 2 I think your expectations are a little high

Cornelius.

and yep 1 in 2 isn't 8 million good for a failed potential (I really hope he proves me wrong).

Cornelius has a better ratio and he's twenty for the same money.

watch Gomis be mint now though, and make me look a twat (again). I hope he does tbh, but I just can't see it.

1 in 2 isn't worth £8m? What era are you still in? Bent cost Villa £24m for a similar ratio and he offers nothing else at all

Cornelius whilst younger is coming from a far inferior league.

Still sounds like not much is in the bag just yet.

Gomis's agent could scupper the deal as he did with Erdinc.

Remy seems to be holding out for a London club.

And Bent seems to be the back up plan.

All three could be gone in a flash.

So when was the last time you watched Cisse play two thirds of a game with his back to the goal, in an attempt at holding the ball up, which is what am presuming Gomis is being brought in for, to all intents and purposes Shola's replacement?...

Bent is somewhere in between him and Cisse, likes to play on the shoulder mostly but is a lot, lot more robust and doesn't mind a physical, aerial battle with a centre half. His Premier League goal scoring record just can't be ignored either.

For me, Gomis, Bent and Remy are all sufficiently different for a purchase of any of them to make sense. Haven't a clue which ones we'll end up getting, if any. I'd prefer Bent and Remy tbh, am hoping Pardew doesn't carry out his threat to go 442 next season when its largely becoming a thing of the past.

coming to something when we're buying cheap again, and people are excited about a struggling (sometimes French international) who has a goal ratio of less than 1 in 2 - and loaning a guy who snubbed us for cash and has rape allegations hanging over them.

And people say toon fans are fickle ey?

I'd seriously rather we had bought bent or that lad that went to Cardiff , even if Bent did play for the mackams.

If we're going to increase the French contingent I'd rather they were quality players with good attitudes right now, this year is going to be emotionally testing.

I'd also add that I find it strange that Pardew / NUFC's obvious placement of key players in the shop window, with media comments has gone ignored. Trying to offload Cabaye, Tiote and Taylor is pretty shit, once again putting revenue before the actual sport of the whole thing.

<end rant>

Didn't Pardew spend the 2 windows before this one saying "ooh we're expecting bids for our big players, got to be prepared for that.." He's been nowhere near as blatant this summer. We didn't lose any of them, which makes me think one or two could be off  Who knows though?...it doesn't look like it atm.

If Barca keep hold of Fabregas I'd expect a bid from manu for Cabaye. Apart from that.....does any of Europe's elite need a keeper?...

My point being I'd rather get someone like Remy over Bent. Someone who can play on the flanks etc.

Gomis, Cisse and Bent would be/are on big wages no doubt and would want to play every week.

I like the sound of Cisse, Gomis, Remy, Gouffran and Campbell being our strikeforce next season. Good ages, attributes, and offers a few options to Pardew should be able to harness them.

Scoobos I actually think I hate your opinion more than any on here. Clueless.

Strong stuff. Clueless? So you can predict the future can you?

Time will tell. I reckon he will get more even at Cardiff than Gomis will here, he's just another Owen.

Fair comment, im pretty sure that we would have sold if anyone had bitten though. I just dont see the sense in hyping players who aren't unsettled , in the middle of a transfer window.

I wish I could.

Your assertions ARE clueless. Could imagine you and CT on sky's fanzone.

I tend to agree, and I also think there was bids from two or three sides for Cabaye last summer but they weren't enough to tempt Ashley.I think they tempted the player very much, and this partly added to him playing like a half shut knife for most of the season when fit. Euros and injury didn't help either, but some games he blatantly couldn't be arsed.

I have never once watched sky's fanzone, or any of their shit tbh.

Given that that is perhaps the worst thing you could do to expand your mind, I reckon I'll win the goal contest between - "baby drogba / 10 or 11 france appearences" Gomis v "mr shit Danish superkid".

Agree with that. Some real pace upfront is required.

Bring it on, each one of those articles has a PRESS RELEASE from pardew.

We've heard the same shit year on year "We are not selling X Player, he's indispensable a quality 1st teamer etc" - then sold. I reckon its blind to say that isn't putting our players in the shop window.

But oh no, its fine we're getting someone who snubbed us , ON LOAN just cos he has fuck all loyalty to the club that did pay him more money , and we somehow expect him to care about here? Oh and a hot prospect from 2005 who's not met his potential. Everything's great again huh?
