^ It's when these 'long-term linked' players end up drifting off to Potteries or Valleys you've gotta start asking questions like . Remy was possibly a greedy exception but either way it raises questions imo .

iirc his career has taken a fair downturn since our interest was first reported

Sell to PSG for £20m + Sakho, spend the £20m on Belhanda, Remy and Redmond then whatever budget we had planned to spend on a replacement for Cabaye.

Fuck off Kinnear, I've got this covered!

Plan is apparently to then get Aubameyang and Zouma. And Bent probably. I dunno about Cabaye, he was poor last season and I think the argument is strong for getting rid. Whether you think he's poor because of Pardew or because he was depressed/whatever, the fact is that he's unlikely to be any better next year under the same people. Maybe other players would be.

Zouma's agent has denied it and I couldn't see us spending that much money on a centre-half that wouldn't be first choice. Despite his obvious potential though.

I'd be gutted if Cabaye went, despite some of the below par performances last season. The reasons for some of our best players failing to perform last season have been discussed at length already.

He's a class act we're not likely to replace him with anyone near as good anyway.

Gutted if he goes . All down to Pardews season of shiteness.

Seriously?

Even if we'd have well done last season, a better/bigger club coming in with a big offer (£25m) for one of our players would probably lead to them leaving. We just don't have the ambition/'project' of the likes of PSG/Monaco. Is that Pardew's fault too?

No disputing massive bids from the rich clubs (not yet forthcoming) will be irresistible, however as I said in November, players of Cabayes quality dont want to play this type of football regardless of transfer fees.

Its know different to any walk of life. If you work for a shit boss and hate your job your head drops and you have one eye on the door.

Money talks of course, but turgid football makes the parting so much easier.

Its club policy to get players in cheap and sell them on for huge profits. Just bacause it hasnt happened as yet it doesnt mean its not true and our tactics last year have nothing to fuckin do with it. Things might have been different if Cabaye had been able to deliver a half decent corner, so he's not as good as people are making out neither so if someone offers 25mill we should take their hands off.

Some people on here are complete fucking idiots when it comes to football mind.

It's OK though - GENIUS Mike Ashley's mate Kinnear will sort us out.

Does anyone know if our scouting network (Carr's cronies) actually extends out of Europe?

You never hear of us looking at Asian talent, or South American talent. I know it's easier to look at and bring in European players because of work permits and the like, but I'd still like to know we're looking worldwide. Even Sunderland seem to be doing that.

I hope they don't sign Peruzzi as he's a cracking prospect.
