Mike Ashley -- Irrelevant Cunt

At the same time Ashley has given him an eight year deal & pacta sunt servanda...

I would imagine there's a few get out clauses.

Personally I think Pardew should offer his resignation and the board can accept or decline.

Few people do that these days.

Gullit deserves a lot of credit for doing it, especially as he knew that he was getting sacked.

He probably lost £1m I'd guess. I can't bring myself to hate Gullit as much as other hopeless managers. Probably because he was utterly fucking class as a player.

Aye a very good read. And a perfect summation of why NOBODY should be buying tickets from the twat of a man. He is having an absolute laugh at your expense.

You can't stop him taking the piss, but you can stop paying him to do it.

If you can let logic overrule your heart thats fair enough. 40k cant, or dont care enough to think about the bigger picture. Can you see the likes of yourself coming riding in on the coat tails if theres some sort of miracle in the next couple of decades and we actually acheive something of note?... we didnt like your kind in 92 either ;)

I'll not be back, don't worry about it. The sport is completely broken; NUFC a case study in how that can manifest itself.

I'm sad to hear that fella. It was like that back in the ossie days but things can turn around, but I do agree with the sport being broken, its been commercialised far too much.

That said, I boycott everything Ashley related , which is ever bloody growing (Sports Direct have pretty much killed off most competition, and now he has Republic too right?) But I still go to every single match I can get a ticket for, just out of nostalgia and loyalty really. As soon as I take my seat in St James' , even when we are shit, I get this boyhood feeling of happiness and excitement.

That's it. With or without Newcastle United the competition is 'broken'. With or without Ashley Newcastle United is a football club because of the supporters. If you choose to not watch because the competition is fundamentally flawed or because of a rightful distaste for Ashley then you're really only hurting yourself. But if you can't summon up the anticipation before a match or the optimistic enthusiasm when the whistle sounds then you're probably just not interested. That's fair enough, but in reality I'd say that has more to do with yourself than it does the state of the club or the league, so you're really not hurting yourself.

There has been a solid decade of piss-taking happening by the top bollocks at this football club. I'd say getting sick of it is a more logical response than turning up every week and hoping that, this summer, we just MIGHT put it all together and rocket up the league.

I'm in the latter btw but that's because I'm thick.

Twitter frothing at the slit at rumours reported by NUFC.com that Ashley is looking to buy Rangers using monies from a Newcastle sale to Americans.

Takeover talk:
Ashley sale claim

A story which looks to have emerged from over the border suggests that Mike Ashley is set to increase his stake in Rangers into full ownership of the Ibrox club - using the proceeds of his sale of Newcastle United.

And fter previous claims of interest from Asian, Russian and Arab-based investors, the rumoured purchasers of United this time round are from the USA.

Edit:- fwiw I think it's just wishful thinking
