thebrokendoll 10580
the broken doll was an exceptional pub, in my humble opinion, the best one newcastle ever produced. the clientele varied and 'colourful' to say the least! was an absolute travesty it was pulled down and ranks right up there with the loss of the mayfair ballrooms and ashley's treatment of keegan as the 3 biggest tradgedies to ever hit our city! Expand It opened as a Firkin Bar which killed it. Me mate lived round the corner and we went in for a game of pool on a Saturday night and there were about 3 people in. It then became Stereo as a pre-club bar. It did well I think but I hated it, especially compared to the original. It died a death when the riverside closed. I think it got burnt out and never reopened (possibly an insurance job).
