Just about to come post the same thing.

Will this mounting bad-press from all types of media have any effect on the way Ashley runs his club?

It's easy to say "No, he doesn't give a shit." but I think that's frivolous.

Possibly frivolous but experience based.

There's been tv shows about his sweatshops and protests and that before. He'll sit it out.

I love to see the pressure though and genuinely believe it is more likely to encourage an increased bid where they'd previously walk away, or an alternative manager where they might previously settle for Carver.

For a player or from a new owner?

For a player

Don't think he has any intention of walking away. Though, as with Pardew, the bad publicity would encourage that too.

Problem is it would need a ridiculous Andy Carroll style over valuation of a bid to have him consider it. £400m+

He's just had £250m wiped off his personal wealth, you reckon that'd encourage or discourage him selling up?

NUFC hasn't cost him anything in 5 years and even by doing nothing whatsoever, the value of the asset goes up far more than the most generous interest rate would offer every 3 years when new TV deals are brought in.

Don't see him selling up unless SD goes they way of Woolworths and HMV.

The Club has noted the Channel 4 'Dispatches' programme aired tonight (Monday, 27th April) and in particular the reference to the terms of the retail relationship between the Club and Sports Direct.

The Club is extremely disappointed no-one from Channel 4 contacted the Club for comment.

The information broadcast is wholly inaccurate and the Club will provide further information and clarification tomorrow (Tuesday, 28th April).

"the change to our retail operating structure introduced in February 2013, which saw us partner with Sports Direct"

What's that supposed to mean? What happened? I hope it only refers to contracts to operate/supply, rather than any Rangers style trademark chicanery. Not that it makes a difference while Ashley is here and owns both the club and SD, but it can obviously be used to make any future takeover more complicated than it needs to be.
