Happy Face 29
Fella from the Mark Group just knocked and said we can have it for nowt. I said champion. Didn't sign owt, but they're gonna ring tomorrow with an installation date. Reading about the web it says it's only free for people on benefits...which we aren't. Christmas Tree 4920
They will probably tick some box that no one will ever check. Governments been doing this for years giving away free cavity wall and loft. Not a house on our estate under £250,000 and virtually ever ones been done! ewerk 31584
They install? You sure he's legit and not just someone looking you to let him into your house?
Ayatollah Hermione 14229
We got the same deal, HF and it's still fucking freezing. He couldn't have lifted owt from my loft either, it's full of shite
David Kelly 1280
I got it done for free just after Christmas. I was going to get it done earlier but the first lot had a quick look and said I couldn't have it done because I had damp and it would spread it to the upstairs flat. The second bloke that came had a proper look and the first lot were talking shite and had just been too lazy to do it properly. I think it's been a bit warmer since I've had it done like. Happy Face 29
Found a receipt from 2009 in the house doccos we got from the previous owners saying the loft insulation was done by the same people then. Also a 50 year guarantee from some company that were supposed to have done the cavity wall insulation back in 1986. I guess they didn't do the walls in 2009 because they had supposedly been done 26 years back. The fella that put a camera in the wall though reckons the old stuff isn't as good as the new expanding foam and just disintegrates....not sure why it would have a 50 year guarantee if that's the case like. Anyhow, still not sure if the lad's angling for a commission or what but they're coming to do it in may....just when it's nice and warm.
NJS 4446
I got an email from British Gas today to arrange installing smart meters and he asked about insulation so I said they could contact me. Got another call and the bloke reckoned cavity walling was a free possibility but it turned out my postcode wasn't on the list so nothing doing. Kid Dynamite 7312
I've been offered it a few times but there's usually a £100 Ish fee attached
