Good news that he's out for the season because with him in goal we were definitely fucked. Now whoever takes over in goal only needs to show some courage when freekicks come into the box and `up the Premier League we go'.HOLD THE FUCKIN LINE ON THE EDGE OF THE FUCKIN BOX AND COME OUT AND CATCH OR PUNCH THE FUCKIN BALL

Couldn't read the rest after this.

Steady on lad.

Elliot isn't Premier League standard and we've no idea how Darlow/Woodman will perform when the chips are down. Maybe if we had better retention of the ball I'd not be so concerned.

Also, I don't have confidence in McClaren & Carr's ability to convince TweedleDick and TweedleThumb to part with enough funds to bring in a Premier League standard 'keeper at Xmas, even if it's only on loan.

For all Krul's let us down on occasion in the past, he's still 100% a top flight 'keeper and is strides ahead of the others at our club.

Might be the last we see of Big Timmy.

If Netherlands fail to qualify he'll have no football until next season. Can't see anyone jumping at the chance to sign him?

Krul gave them 14 yards. The keeper needs to position himself 6 yards from the goal line and be brave enough to come out and collect the ball if required. If the keeper cannot get out quicker than the attackers to claim the ball, the ball shouldn't really be good enough for an attacker to score from.Krul's policy of letting every fucker advance before the ball is kicked then making no attempt to come out and claim the ball, hasn't working funnily enough, and will never work.Standing 4 yards from goal and shitting his pants isn't what i would expect of a Sunday morning keeper. Please take this opportunity to convince me Krul's tactic can be successful.

Hold the line? Giving attackers 18 yards of space to run into after the kick is taken?

You mean the 'water carriers' are proving ineffective?

Has anyone any idea how long Darlow is supposed to be out for? We've seen little to nothing of him but we have to hope he's better than Elliot who has convinced everyone how shit he is.

Regarding Krul i've been unimpressed with him for quite a while now. He lets in far too many saveable shots for my liking.

Once you realise that he can't make a save on his right hand side, it'll aggravate you for the rest of your days. Still, he's better than the rest of them. It's a big ask to recall Woodman and give him a run in the side, mind.

When we signed Darlow he was being tipped as a future England international and he seemed to be doing well for Forrest at the start of last season. But I've never seen more than the odd few clips of him so I couldn't say whether he's likely to be good enough or not. We know Elliot isn't anywhere near as good as Krul though so his injury has to be a concern. I totally agree about Woodman despite him apparently doing well for Crawley.

IF we go down they'll be like rats leaving a sinking ship this time. There'll be nobody sticking around like Barton,Nolan etc did last time to dig us out of the hole. The only good thing that MAY come out of relegation is the chance of Ashley selling up due to a lack of free tv advertising for his tat shops.

Isn't he just as likely to stick around to get us back up so that he can sell a Premier League club and get the premium that comes with that?

It's not that long ago when everyone, apart from me,rated him highly. He's always been a dodgy kicker and has always been shit with regards to any possibility of physical contact, whether it was using his hands or clearing the ball with his feet. He's never commanded his 6 yard box never mind the penalty box.Given had his critics but his kicking, punching and catching were far superior to Krul's and way way better at shot stopping.

His kicking was better than Krul's,which isn't saying much, and he was more of a puncher than a catcher and effective with it.Krul is shit at both punching and catching.Krul reminds me of Martin Thomas. The big difference is,Thomas would shit his pants 4 yards from goal whilst shouting `away' whereas Krul says fuck all whilst shitting his pants 4 yards from goal. You will probably google Martin Thomas `goalkeeper' within seconds of reading this post.

The problem with relegated teams is that there isn't always clubs ready to adopt the rats. Barton didn't stick around to get us out of a hole either, he went to jail during the transfer window didn't he?

Depends how much a years worth (if we come up first go) of free worldwide tv advertising is really worth to him.
