Christmas Tree 4920
Ok, just been listening to the Don MClean dong, starry starry night. A well know tune that Ive hummed along to but never really taken much notice of. Then you actually listen to the lyrics and its all about Van Gogh, his paintings and suicide. Bit bizarre. Any other songs that you used to take for granted and then suddenly realised what they were all about?
Renton 22391
How about Van the Man's 'Brown eyed girl' being about anal sex?

I can't figure out how he was listening through Don McLean's dong.
Gene_Clark 12
In the mid 1980s, I often used to wonder what "We Hate You White South African Bastards" by Microdisney was about.....

The Fish 11068
Why is it weird? Must songs only be about love, sex or bitches, blunts and 40s?

Any other songs that you used to take for granted and then suddenly realised what they were all about? All those years I sang along to 'I should be so lucky, (lucky in love)' by wor Kylie I never realised it was about a frustrated young teenage lass who was just hoping that for once she could be 'lucky, lucky lucky in love' for once. Quite overwhelming the feeling of hope and frustration* in that track. * Hoping you'll get a glimpse of more than her shoulders in the bath scene and ultimately being frustrated when you don't.
