Sissoko talking to us this Wednesday(l'Equipe) prefers us to QPR

I would question his sanity if this is the case tbh!

We're linked with Gouffran again this morning. He's scored 8 goals for Bordeaux this season but I can't say I was impressed when we played them. Out of contract in the summer so if he's a cheap third choice striker it wouldn't be bad but as a replacement for Ba it wouldn't excite.

Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko is likely to become the latest France international to join Newcastle United, L'Equipe has reported.

Sissoko, 22, is out of contract with the Ligue 1 club next summer. He had initially seemed destined for a move to Marseille or Monaco, but has reportedly made clear that he intends to join the likes of Hatem Ben Arfa, Yohan Cabaye and Mathieu Debuchy at St. James's Park.

Negotiations between Sissoko's representatives and Newcastle officials are scheduled for Wednesday, though L'Equipe also says the player's agent is in London for talks with Queens Park Rangers.

While his destination remains unclear, it is certain that Sissoko, who played in Toulouse's 2-1 win over Nancy on Saturday night, is on his way out of the club he joined in 2003.

"Moussa Sissoko has three choices: extend his contract with Toulouse, leave this winter or stay on the bench until June," club president Olivier Sadran told BeIN Sport.

"If he extends his contract, he'll have the chance to leave at the end of the season with a very big bonus. There are offers from Marseille and Monaco, and some English clubs are trying to get involved. If he doesn't decide quickly, I'll take a decision."

Can't see this one happening simply due to how well stocked we are in midfield. Think he would be a class signing too. He's a classic box to box midfielder who would give us much needed power and drive, so in that respect he's completely different to what we have at the moment.

Brighton could return with another offer for Groningen defender Virgil van Dijk after failing with a bid on Friday, according to the Argus.

Van Dijk has also been linked with Everton, Newcastle and Sunderland and manager Gus Poyet said: "I don't know. We will think about it. There are too many rumours, too many things, we'll see."

Looks like we are after Gouffran from Bordeaux. Pacey forward who can pay anywhere along the front line.

Not sure about this guy. Would fit into the winger role but not sure he is the answer.

We need players that can play all across the front line though. For the price it's a no-brainer.

What price is being touted about? Would like us to sign someone who can bang a few in aswell to be honest. 26 years old and if he is cheap then maybe but to me he seems average.

I'm not saying I don't want us to bring in another forward, but look at it this way - Shola is our option at the moment after Cisse, then it's Ranger. Bringing him in for a million or whatever it is would be good for us as it would give us another option that's better than what we already have.

I agree we need someone in and I wasn't aware his value was only a million. I just don't want us to waste £ on another Ranger, Ameobi etc (If you get what I mean) Hopefully this is another Carr hidden gem who knows.

TRANSFER LATEST

Bordeaux have rejected a bid from Newcastle for striker Yoan Gouffran, according to reports in France.

The Magpies, who are still searching for a replacement for Demba Ba, are believed to have offered 750,000 euros to the Ligue 1 side for the 26-year-old.

However, Sud Ouest and L'Equipe both report Bordeaux have turned down the offer as they have put a price tag of one million euros on the former France Under-21 international.

We're desperate for a different kind of player up front to go along Cisse since Shola is no good from the start. I hope they just stump up the cash and don't wait 6 months

We're tight as fuck like. Haggling over 250,000 euros man.

I'm sure, if asked, the next home crowd would each give a fiver towards the deal if it guaranteed our Premier League survival
