ewerk 30610
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2018/mar/23/owen-smith-calls-for-public-poll-on-final-brexit-deal?CMP=share_btn_tw Is it in any way likely? On the one hand it gives the government a get out of jail free card, on the other hand it incentivises the EU to give us the worst possible deal that only the ultra-Brexiters could vote for. Rayvin 5223
I dunno tbh, he must be sick of his MPs running to the guardian and bitching about things by now. Maybe its the timing? Local elections around the corner etc. Maybe there is a tougher line on this now. At the end if the day, on the face of it, its reasonable to expel someone who defies the party line. If Smith thinks it unfair because of Abbot, then I'll accept that it was. If he says nothing, then there's probably something else going on that we can't see. Just making the point that myself personally am going to struggle to put the cross next to Labour at any election. He's clearly way against the grain of his potential supporters on Europe and almost certainly his long term membership. I'd fucking love him to go. Yeah I wouldn't mind him going as long as the party remained on the left. If they go back to the centre they lose my vote but I had made peace with that after the Miliband farce so it's not hugely significant for me I suppose. More concerned about my principles than his. ewerk 30610
I see Keir Starmer was appealing to the idiot Brexiter yesterday by insisting that we should be paying £120m more for our passports so they can be printed in the UK.
ewerk 30610
Quote LBC can reveal that more Brits would prioritise leaving the European Union than maintaining the United Kingdom in its current form. Our poll with YouGov shows that 36% of people think leaving the EU is more of a priority than keeping Northern Ireland in the United Kingdom (29%). And 71% of people that chose the EU over Northern Ireland voted Brexit. With this week marking one year until the UK leaves the EU, the subject of the Irish border continues to be a contentious issue in negotiations. Last week at the EU summit, it was announced that the EU and UK have not reached agreement on the Irish border despite "decisive" progress on other Brexit issues. An option remains on the table that would mean Northern Ireland essentially remaining in the single market and customs union if no other border solution can be found. The prospect of a United Ireland has grown ever since Northern Ireland voted to remain in the EU by a majority of 56% to 44% in the referendum. It speaks volumes that the Brexiters are determined to see Brexit through come what may. Economic hardship? Break up of the Union? All prices worth paying for 'freedom'. It's staggering how idiotic some of the electorate are.

Seriously, I despise English nationalism. It's a cancer pervading through our society. Even at my work, I was talking to a colleague who is relatively intelligent, or should be for his position, and he was whinging on the eve of St Patrick's day that "The English aren't allowed to celebrate St George's day". I had to bite my lip to avoid saying "shut up you stupid cunt". Instead I meekly nodded and made my excuses.
Meenzer 15526
I believe "Why would you want to celebrate a Turk? Are you some kind of traitor? ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!" is the correct response in such circumstances.
